PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE ENTIRE AUCTION AND AGREEMENT BEFORE PLACING YOUR BID 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback K-Code (Numbers Matching Car) Factory289/271HP High Performance (HiPo) Professional Restoration Completed August 2017 Original & Numbers Matching Engine All Original Sheet Metal (100%) Miles Are Original 60,113 Clean Title issued in 1992 Car is Listed in the 289 HiPo Book (4th Edition) Restoration Pictures I Reserve the Right to End this Listing Early Call or Text… 706-831-1899 Up for auction is an awesome 1965 Ford Mustang K-Code Fastback… I purchased this K-Code from a local Mustang enthusiast, collector, and high-end Mustang restorer. He has restored high end Mustangs for many years including Shelby GT’s, K-Codes and R-Code Cobra Jets. His cars & collection are top shelf and he is very meticulous and detailed and with a passion for Mustangs. This car was no exception. If you want one of the best, low mileage, K-Codes Mustang Fastback in existence then don’t miss out on this one! The previous owner had this HiPo Mustang for many years but just restored the car this year… including high quality and correct factory color Rangoon Red paint. The original numbers matching engine was removed as well as the transmission and all supporting parts, all chrome, trim, glass, and bright work. The interior was removed and the car was taken down to the shell prior to prep work and paint. All the sheet metal and body is the original Ford sheet metal and no body work or replacement panels were needed. The underside of the car was stripped down to the metal also and then prepped and sprayed with Southern Polyurethanes Red Oxide Epoxy Primer. The floor pans and trunk pans are also original sheet metal. I have pictures of the process. The paint and body are excellent. The body is laser straight with all gaps near perfect and the paint is as slick as glass, including the door jambs and trunk. I don’t know how you could have better paint on a car. It’s a drop-dead knockout! The glass is the optional factory original tinted glass with banded windshield… and all in excellent condition (60k mile condition) … The original numbers matching engine was disassembled completely (and transmission) then rebuilt to factory specs and factory details including parts (internal & external), and paints/colors (including paint dipping) and markings. The previous owner mentioned above has a mechanical shop which has been in business for almost 60 years and is one of the most trusted auto centers in Augusta, GA. with a rich history of integrity, quality, community, and customer care. I mention this so that you will understand that this build was done correctly and completely. The drive shaft was shipped to DEAD NUTS ON in Fresno, CA. where it was rebuilt including new center tube, correct paint markings, new correct Ford U-Joints, and cleaned the yoke… all as new and correct. (shown in pics) … The rear end is not the original. It is a Ford 9 shortened with 31 spline axles and big bearings. The interior is original. It was removed cleaned up and re-installed at the appropriate time during the restoration process. Since the car only had 60k miles on the clock, the interior was really in great shape. This includes original carpet, seats, center console, front seat belts, door panels, head liner, dash, gauges, handles, knobs, and switches…all original to this car. Everything works even the original radio. In the trunk is the original factory trunk mat, new gas tank, and what looks to be the original spare and jack. The window felts and tracks on both sides were replaced. The wheels are original and the tires are brand new BF Goodrich Silvertown Radials P205/70R14’s. This is a great car. It runs and drives excellent. (I drove the car 55 miles yesterday)... The paint and body is high show quality. This Mustang HiPo is undeniably one of the best in existence… and with only 60k original miles! This car is 1 of only 466 K-cars built in Dearborn in 1965 and it is listed and registered in the 289 High Performance 4th edition book by Tony Gregory. Come see this car for yourself… I can pick you up at the Augusta, GA airport or the Thomson, GA (small aircraft) …on almost any day.
