Combining the practicality of a pickup truck with the frivolity of a convertible, MotoeXotica Classic Cars is proud to present this 1928 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup Truck.

Dressed in Andalusite Blue with a black folding roof over black fenders, this truck's paint and trim are in excellent condition. The windshield is in good order and the rear plastic window in the roof is clear. The truck's headlights are in very good condition, as is the driver's side taillight.

This truck rolls on Lester blackwall tires, 4.40-4.50-21 surrounding gray Ford wire wheels. Both tires and wheels look good.

The bodywork on this truck is straight, the folding roof is in excellent order and the truck comes with a side-mounted spare tire on the driver's side. The engine bay is quite tidy, the front bumper looks great and the cargo bed comes with a wood floor and wood topside rails. On the passenger side running board is a small rack to store items.

Under the hood is a 201 CID L-head inline four-cylinder engine. The engine is mated to a conventional sliding gear three-speed manual transmission with a single speed reverse and a 3.77:1 rear end.

Inside, the black bench seat is in very good shape. There is no carpet but there are black floor mats, which look good. The black metal instrument panel, with its simple group of gauges, is in very good order and the four-spoke steering wheel is in excellent condition and comes with a flashlight strapped to the steering column. The inner door panels, mirror glass and shift lever are all in good shape and the shifter even has a clock embedded in it and it works!

Model As came in a wide variety of styles including a Coupe (Standard and Deluxe), the Business Coupe, Sport Coupe, Roadster Coupe (Standard and Deluxe), Convertible Cabriolet, Convertible Sedan, Phaeton (Standard and Deluxe), Tudor Sedan (Standard and Deluxe), Town Car, Fordor (two-window) (Standard and Deluxe), Fordor (three-window) (Standard and Deluxe), Victoria, Town Sedan, Station Wagon, Taxicab, Truck, and Commercial. The very rare Special Coupe started production around March 1928 and ended mid-1929.

The Model A was the first Ford to use the standard set of driver controls with conventional clutch and brake pedals, throttle, and gearshift. Previous Fords used controls that had become uncommon to drivers of other makes. The Model A's fuel tank was situated in the cowl, between the engine compartment's firewall and the dash panel. It had a visual fuel gauge and the fuel flowed to the carburetor by gravity. A rear-view mirror was optional. In cooler climates, owners could purchase an aftermarket cast iron unit to place over the exhaust manifold to provide heat to the cab. A small door provided adjustment of the amount of hot air entering the cab. The Model A was the first car to have safety glass in the windshield.

This truck is currently located at our facility in St. Louis, Missouri. Current mileage on the odometer shows 22 miles. It is sold as is, where is, on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
