86 Mustang GT Convertible w/ LS Turbo Swap TH400

1986 Ford Mustang

Time tosell my baby. I've had her for roughly 5 or 6 years. She started off all stock and now has just about everything brand new or refreshed, except the interior. Interior is mostly stock.

The motor is a 5.3 LS motor out of a 2008 Tahoe that had rear end damage and totaled. The Tahoe had about 80k miles. I bought the motor already removed from my friend and was familiar with the Tahoe. My buddy Paul from #houseofpower in NY build the car for me from that point.

The Motor was refreshed completely with all new seals and rings. The bottom end is stock components and the top end has Lingenfelter freshened heads, an LS9 cam and an LS1 intake. All new injectors as well, and a brand new 78mm turbo setup with custom plumbing and a nice big intercooler to keep her all cool. The big aluminum brand new radiator with electric van also helps keep her extremely cool.

The Transmission is a freshened up Turbo 400 that cost $4,695 originally. It's from "Maximum Performance" w/ transbrake, 300M Alloy Input shaft w/ steel drum, 300M Alooy main shaft, steel clutch hub, Billet Aluminum direct drum with super sprag, deep aluminum pan, straight cut planetary, 2.10-1.40, 2.21-1.44, 2.33-1.48, 2.98-1.56 choice ratio (reversed pattern, Chevrolet 4" ext). 10" converter.

Driveshaft is custom made from a professional shop

Built rear - mid section from 03 Cobra (refreshed), 5 lug strange axles, C-clip eliminators, 3.73 Ford Motorsport gears.

Micro squirt brain set up on 2 step to help build boost at launch.

interior has a 6pt. Roll bar, auto meter gauges and boost gauge and A/F

Subframe connectors, strange 10 way adjustable shocks front and back (coil overs in front w/ racing shocks), 5 lug conversion.

upgraded fuel system and injectors. braided lines.

all brand new stainless steel brake lines. all brand new brakes.

I'm sure I'm forgetting something. The new build probably has less than 50 miles.

I've since bought a corvette to be my toy / project and no longer have interest in this Mustang. I have way more money into her than I expect to get back. My loss will be your gain.
