1963 Ford Falcon Sprint
I am selling my 1963 Falcon Sprint Hardtop. The Sprint is a clone. This car started out as a 6 cylinder Futura. All the badges are correct to turn this car into a Sprint, But is was not originally one. That being said, I built this car with the idea of building a retractable hardtop and the one goal I wanted to maintain is to make it look as much original as possible. I have even had a owners manual cover made and a fake build sheet that has fooled a lot of people. The car has a 302 fuel injected motor with a AOD transmission. The car was built with the following modifications:Four electric windows, 4" stretch, 302 EFI motor, AOD transmission, Electric actuators that operate everything, The rear seat folds down forward to allow the roof into the back area, and air shocks. Other features include : a full frame built in place with additional torque box metal added under the car and all the controls are in the console. Even the clam opening trailer (opens from the passenger side) is controlled from the drivers seat. There is a youtube video of this car that shows everything working including the cover for the rear seat area. The cover just sits on the car. I had plans to build a fastener, but never did do that. I trailer this car everywhere and set it up at shows, The roof does go back and fits into the rear area and the trunk closes. Then the cover can be removed from the trailer. This car has won several awards including the following Falcon Nation Awards: Ladies Choice twice, Best of Show Modified, and featured in the Masters Class. It has won awards at other shows as well. It is a real conversation piece and I have had a lot of fun with it. I am ready to move on to other projects and don't have room to keep them all. The Paint job is very good. It is a nice deep black. The bad: there are two stress cracks showing on the trailer. I have thought about fixing them, but have chosen no to. I will update with these pictures. There are no safety switches. Each actuator has to be run by a switch and you must careful moving things. The only ones that are really each and must be watched are the two that operate the roof.. The trunk windows, back seat, and trailer all run on one switch. I have tried in vein to come up with a good seal to seal off the roof and the trunk. I will show picture of these areas also. When the roof is in the half way up position, these seals are not even paid attention to. The transmission shifter linkage sits very low. I lowered the motor and transmission 1 1/4" and that made the motor and transmission closer to the ground. If you run over a speed bump, the shifter may hit. Again, I have thought about ways to fix this, but never came up with a good solution. There are two roof assist actuators that help raise and lower the roof once it gets in the trunk area. I had to box this area out at the front of the wheel wells and when the air shocks air low on air, the can rub when you hit a dip in the road. By having the air shocks up, I don't have a problem. I modified the battery holder because with the alternator I thought I needed more room. If you turn the wheel very hard left it sometimes rubs this box. All this being said, I have a lot of fun with this car. It turns heads and is a great show piece. It is not perfect, but it is a great conversation piece. Bid with confidence that you will have fun showing this car. If you want to see it in person or have someone examine it for you, I will be happy to show it. I will answer all questions. I will help ship this car and trailer anywhere in the world as long as I don't have to pay for it. A non refundable $500 deposit due within 24 hours of purchaseVehicle Details:
