Description:

1965 Ford Mustang

Car is being relisted due to complaints from watchers that it was listed at vacation time.
1965 Mustang Convertible with the very rare FactoryACode Option and 4 speed (289 4 Barrel, 225 HP Engine). The only thing better than an A Code in 1965 would be a K Code.Less than 72000 miles on this beauty.Add to this the rarity of a factory 4 speed.Awesome and rare combination.
The car has undercoating on the bottom side. The door hinge area, trunk floor, shock towers, fenders, doors, trunk lid, cowl, firewall, rockers, radiator support, and tops of quarters areAll rust free original metal. This is very important with these cars because these areasare prone to rot and are integral support areas. The floors appear to be mostly original as dothe boxes, and all is very solid underneath. This all makes for a very solid and original feel.
They're only original once so if it hasn't been cut apart it will drive more like it should!
Brand new wheels compliment the factory Vintage Burgundy Metallic paint colorand Black Pony interior with White inserts. The white top and white wall tires set off the exterior. The convertible top is in excellent condition with a clear rear window.New (correct) leaf springs have just been installedand the car rides at the perfect factory height withoutthe need for extra springs or helpers, just the way Forddesigned it. Also recently installed is a power brake conversion, and a power steering conversion. This gives the steering a muchnicer feel. All the bulbs have been replacedin the dashboard if you want to do some night driving. The 4 speed shifter is new for a precise and accurate feelwhen going through the gears. Newer clutch and radiator. The console and plate were also replaced when thenew shifter was installed.
The interior looks great! No issues with the seats, carpets, door panels, or dashboard.A new wood steering wheel has just beeninstalled complete with new horn button. Also new is the chrome air cleaner assembly.
The engine runs great and has lots of power.Sounds great through the dual exhaust with anice mellow rumble. The exhaust tips are not throughthe lower valance because it's not a GT.The carb had been replaced at some point and the engine nowhas an Edelbrock carb on it with a manual choke.
What is so nice about this car is that youcan feel it has never been torn apart andrebuilt. There are some replacement parts onthe carbut it has never been ripped apart (like most)due to major rust repair or an accident andyou can feel the difference when you drive acar like this.
Again, They Are Only Original Once!
If you need any other information just ask but please don't wait until the last days of the auction.

I was asked about the boxes. They are in nice condition and appear to be original. Not rusted or rotted! I attribute the lack of rust to the fact that the car was undercoated. If you have any other questions please ask before the last 28 hours of the auction.Bid early and bid often. Good Luck!
