A true time capsule. This pristine 1985 Ford Thunderbird was not driven since February of 1997 until August of this year. This car is like stepping back in time to 1985. Only 5,269 miles!!!
My Uncle purchased this car brand new from the dealership in 1985. He drove the car for a year and a half before his unfortunate passing. My Aunt kept up with yearly state inspections until 1997, only driving it to the inspection station, and then parking it back in the heated garage until the next year. The car sat in a heated garage from 1997 to 2017. In July of this year we pulled the car out of storage. We replaced the fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel filter, injectors, spark plugs, battery, and air filter. The engine runs smooth, the transmission shifts like brand new car. The factory spare has never been on the ground.
The Thunderbird is the original Medium Regatta Blue clearcoat metallic with blue cloth interior. The option list reads as V6 3.8L,AC, PS, PB, PW, PDL, rear defrost, cruise, tilt wheel, digital dash, power drivers seat, and power mirrors. The Thunderbird still smells new inside, the car was undercoated at the dealership at purchase.The back of the Pennsylvania inspection sticker reads a date of 2-7-97 and 5010 miles. As you look down the sides of the car there are no door dings or dents. The original paper tags are still attached to the valve cover with an engine manufacture date of 04/26/85. This Thunderbird is practically a brand new car.

Every car needs something, so what does this car need? The tires will need to be replaced due to age and flat-spotting from sitting. The headliner will need to be replaced as the material has separated from the foam. There are some very minor factory paint imperfections on the trunk lid, but the paint is original and too nice to bother with. The AC will also need to be recharged.

You are basically bidding on a practically brand new car, only 5,269 miles and RWD. I would love to keep this car but I am running out of space.
