Henry Ford's 1932 introduction of an affordable, V8-powered automobile gave hot rodding a phenomenal boost. Young backyard tinkerers quickly discovered the high-speed potential of a light Deuce Roadster or fenderless Highboy Coupe, to be had for a mere $50 at the end of WWII, ushering in the Golden Age of hopped up "Gow Jobs."

Eighty-five years later, prime examples of these performance enhanced Coupes and Roadsters are routinely invited to mingle with fine European Classics on the lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and other prestigious events.

Many of these fabulous street rods achieved fame.

Just think of Pete Chapouris' black-and-flamed "California Kid," Jake's chopped, yellow 3-window, ZZ Top's "Eliminator" Coupe, Jim Lytle's "Big Al" Allison-powered Dragster, or the immortal, blue Mooneyham & Sharp "554" Fuel Coupe.

With many steel bodied and fiberglass replicas to choose from, it'd be a nice surprise to find a superior example of the species that looks, runs and drives like a 2017 model!

The most likely place to unearth such a rare gem would be Southern California, with its mild climate and large number of affluent, Street Rod enthusiasts.

Such an amazing find is the miraculous '32 Ford Roadster presented for auction here! This fascinating Ford has covered very few sunny, Southern Ca. miles since it was completed over 10 years ago.

California registered and titled as a 1932 Ford Convertible (VIN 181323770) the car was always garaged and kept in show-ready condition and now has become available due to the passing of its dedicated owner.

Being sold by the owner's widow who lives in the affluent Orange County neighborhood of Yorba Linda, she says her husband always loved, cherished and garaged this wonderful Classic. Proceeds from the sale go into her grandchildren's trust.

Let's take a closer look now, top to bottom, inside and out.

Exterior:

The immaculate body and trimnot only speak volumes about the loving care this Mercedes has always received but underscores its Southern California provenance.

The replica body and car was a no-expense-spared, PROFESSIONAL build with great attention to detail and function with a high-quality fit and finish that you don't see on most fiberglass roadsters.

Even upon close inspection, this classic Roadster is absolutely stunning.

With laser straight body panels and sparkling chrome, there is NO evidence of any past collision repairs or poor workmanship that would cause even the most discriminating owner sleepless nights.

With Goodyear Eagle RH 195/60R14 radials front and 275/60R15's rear mounted to polished 5-spoke alloys, wheel detail is amazing.

Speaking of detail, look how straight the body is, how glossy the paint, how sparkling the chrome; this one's as good as it gets!

Turning our attention to the interior:

From the plush leather seating to the pristine, wood framedConvertible top with snap-out rear window; everything is in a wonderfully preserved state.

One tiny hole in the seat can only be seen in the above photo.

Let's examine the dashboard!

A full complement of VDO instruments keeps the pilot up to date.

Needless to say, every gauge, light and switch works as it should.

Key ignition and auxiliary fan switch, arehidden beneath the dash. Clean!

Leather seat upholstery is very comfortable, even on long distance trips.

Elaborate door panels feature nice details and floor covering is immaculately clean.

Rear window snaps open.

From every angle, the quality materials and workmanship shine through!

Let's have a look inside the trunk.

The spacious trunk is fully upholstered and will hold all your bags and supplies for local picnics or cross-country adventures!

Housing the battery and polished aluminum fire extinguisher, this trunk is immaculate!

A peek inside the open engine compartment reveals a toothbrush clean engine bay.

Filled with sparkling chrome, polished aluminum and a bulletproof Chevy 350 engine with Edelbrock manifold and Holley carburetor, this drive train is solid and ready to go!

The big aluminum radiator has an thermostatically controlled electric fanand can be manually turned on by the switch under the dash if needed.

What a beautiful powerplant!

Driving Experience:

The '32 starts on the first turn of the key, every time, and idles whisper quiet. No, she's not a temperamental "Diva" by any means. Just put the lever in "D" and off you go!

Piloting this Hot Rod is effortless fun. It runs, drives, handles, steers, and stops fabulously.

It's fast, too. At speed, the exhaust provides a mellow, rumbly soundtrack.

Be it around town or during long highway trips, you'll always feel good behind the wheel of this amazing '32. Just add some appropriate tunes--how 'bout some ZZ Top?--and you'll have a blast, wherever you go.

This '32 Ford Street Rod is quite an unusual discovery. Finding one that has been conceived as thoughtfully and meticulously as this one is almost unheard of.

Sure, you could build your own, but how long would it take and how much would that cost?

Figure on five years hard labor and $100,000.00 or more!

Don't miss this unique opportunity to jump behind the wheel of one of the finest, fully finished and sorted Hot Rod Convertibles in existence today.
