1960 Ford Ranchero Pickup

Driver Quality 1960 Falcon Ranchero
Up for grabs is a nice 1960 Ranchero finished in metallic red paint and newer black interior. The engine is what I believe to be the original 144ci paired with a Mustang 5 Speed transmission. The seats are out of a newer mustang and a console was added between the seats. When I purchased the car, it was in the same condition as it is today except the wiring was a mess. I decided to remove the original headlight switch (which doubled as the fuse box) and use a more modern blade type fuse system. All lights are now operational and car starts and runs as it should. Previous owner switched to an alternator and I purchased a brand new battery this month form NAPA.
The Good: The floor is the most solid I've ever seen on a classic car. There is no rust or rot problems under the car, and exhaust is newer. The paint is of driver quality and shines in a nice metallic red. While not show quality, it is still a presentable car. The interior is a tasteful upgrade with bucket seats and everything done in black. All glass is good. Car starts up right away and shifts through gears fine. Brakes are as good as you can expect for an almost 60 year old car.
The Needy: Interior kick panels are missing, wipers need wiring, no radio included. The car has some bondo but I couldn't imagine it be all that much judging by underneath and inside the door jambs. It's overall a nice solid car. Emblems are gone, holes filled in. Drivers window needs a new bushing to go down smoothly. Door locks need attention. Basically, it needs a little completing.
The Bad: Nothing really unless you're looking for an all original show car. This wouldn't be the one I'd start with if that's what you're looking for. Or if you like talking to people....then I would not recommend this. I've had my share of cars over the years, and these early Rancheros get more attention than most classics. Everyone wants to know what it is!
Title is from Virginia and is clear. Title mileage reads 137xxx. I'm not really sure what is correct for the car. It doesn't look like it's been over 100,000 but this car's been around longer than I have!
Pick up will be in Egg Harbor NJ. It is about halfway between Philadelphia and Atlantic City. "Can I drive it home halfway across the country?" well, I'm no fortune teller, but unless you're looking for an adventure then I'd probably just send a trailer for any crazy long distance. These cars weren't meant to handle much of that when they were new let alone the crazy drivers and roads today.
I'm going to go crazy and make this a NO RESERVE auction starting at a penny. Bid away!
