1970 FORD GALAXIE XL CONVERTIBLE 390ci V8 ENGINE CLASSIC MUSCLE!

This is an outstanding classic cruiser with luxury and muscle to spare. The XL features automatic hide-away headlights, n automatic convertible top and white leather interior. This car has been well-kept mechanically and it runs like it rolled off of the assembly line yesterday!

The already-muscular 390 cubic inch engine had professional performance work done in the 1990’s as well as a new paintjob then, ut the car is otherwise all original.

The period performance enhancements include bored cylinders, rower racing cams and lifters and a Holley Carburetor. I have all documentation, ncluding the Camshaft Timing Tag, he Crank Balancing Sheet and Piston Data Chart.

I bought the car from the daughter of the original owner. I have the 1970 Ford dealership brochure and the metal embossed Power Train Warranty Card dated 01-31-70.

After the engine was freshened up, he prior owner took it to the track exactly once and I have his receipt from the Numidi Raceway on July 9, 999.

I bought the car in 2013 out of a barn in Orangeville, A and brought it back to life. It needed a lot of cleaning up. I also had the following professionally replaced:

New tires

New exhaust system and muffler

New heater core

New valve cover gaskets

New master cylinder

New brake calipers, ads, hoes and hoses

New wheel cylinders

New distributor cap, park plugs and points

New power steering hoses

New wiper blades

New belts throughout

New filters throughout

New exhaust tips

New Dynamat heat and sound shielding under carpet and hood

New carpet throughout with new carpet-matched floor mats

New window crank knobs

I also had the radiator re-cored, otors machined, he wheels repacked, he parking brake adjusted, he gas tank cleaned & lined and the fuel lines replaced. Obviously, he oil was also changed and I have kept up all routine maintenance.

I have receipts for all of the above that go with the car as well as all of the other documentation mentioned. With all the work that has been done on the vehicle, t isn’t very relevant, ut the 5-digit odometer is showing 17,310 miles. I assume that it has rolled over once, o that the correct mileage is 117,310, ut she doesn’t drive like it!

The car has air vents that open and close, he heater works great, ll lights, he wipers, asher fluid, he cigarette lighter and other dashboard switches work as they should.

When this car was built, eatbelts and side view mirrors (called racing mirrors then) were optional, ut this car comes with both!

I have clear title in hand.

I had a sound system professionally installed at a cost of over $1,200. It includes a Sony Bluetooth audio system compatible with iphone, pod and Sirius Xm, Alpine 4 Channel Aplifier with Kicker Amp kit and four Sony speakers front and rear. The sound quality is outstanding and the system is more than strong enough to use with the top down at highway speed!

To maintain the classic look of the car, he stereo and amp were installed under the seat and are operated by a remote control.

This is an excellent driver car that could be show ready with just a few touch ups. She turns 45 years old this year and there are a few paint chips here and there, ome minor surface rust on the rear bumper and some age-related yellowing and other assorted spots on the interior. Otherwise, he’s about as close to perfect as you’ll find for a classic, specially in this price range!

The real magic is in driving this car. It has plenty of room and goes down the road incredibly well. The ride is smoother than anything else I’ve ever driven.

They are very rare, ven at car shows, nd especially in this great condition! It turns heads everywhere and I get the thumbs up or a positive comment from about every third person who sees the car when I’m out.
