Description:
1931 Ford Model A
This 1931 Model A Roadster is barn fresh and has been resting indoors since the mid 70's. What you see is what I have. The body is in overall decent condition and sports perfect patina. I dohave the windshield, butno stanchions. It has smalldings here and there, and small amounts of rust through, which I tried to capture in the photos. Those areas are the lower portions of each side of the cowl and in the rear wheel well areas. Nothing crazy. It's a solid body, ready to hot rod or restore. The chassis rolls. It steers with some effort. The brakes stop the car at a roll. The clutch works and the transmission shifts. The motor is not currently turning. I have it soaking now and I believe with some effort it will eventually break free. The wheels are later 16" V8 wheels, tires hold air.The title was lost by the previous owner.(who owned it for 40 years)I have paperwork from DMV to obtain, and a signed letter of explaination (DMV document) from the previous owner. You will need to check with your state to see what the specific guidelines are to getit titled. InOregon, they need to inspect the vehicle and can issue the title that way. (Or, buy a title online, at a swap meet, etc.)
This is the perfect TROG car candidate. I bought to keep, and hadintended to build a pre war hot rod with it and take it to the Race of Gentlmen, but I have too many cars and too many irons in the fire at the moment. Therefore, I am offering up this great little car to someone who wantsaperfect project.
Decent roadster bodies are getting harder to come by. This is the perfect hot rod starter.
