1994 Ford F-250
1994 Ford F-250 Turbo Diesel, 4x4, 5spd.Ok, This is a long story, but here goes: I started with a clean California F250 extended cab, four wheel drive, 7.3L IDIT turbo diesel truck. It was originally a white truck, but was showing it's age. So, I decided I'd have it repainted, and that would be good enough.A year later....I had the body removed from the frame, installed all new body bushings, used urethane bushings, not the crummy factory rubber ones. While the front end was off, decided to rebuild the front suspension. Totally rebuilt, new upper and lower ball joints, idler arm, pitman arm, tie rod ends, bushings, center axle bushings, shocks, etc. etc.Once the body was back on the truck, it was driven to an alignment shop, and given an alignment.
Then the engine was steam cleaned, and any leaks were detected, and repaired. Turned out there weren't too many leaks, but any that it had, were addressed. Oil pan gasket, and valve covers was all it really needed.
Next came the lift kit. We installed a 6" suspension lift, front and back. Did not install a body lift, as I don't like the way the frame hangs down, and is visible.
Then the 5 speed manual transmission was removed, sent out and gone through, seals, bearings, synchro's, etc. Purchased and installed a new flywheel, the solid 1 piece designed for the Powerstroke, new pressure plate, throwout bearing, and clutch disc. All aftermarket, upgraded pieces. Re-installed the transmission.
Next was a complete 4 wheel brake job, and front hub bearings. Then installed aftermarket manual locking hubs. then we turned to the exhaust. Removed everything and started with a new down pipe. and straight piped it the rest of the way, with a 90 bend exiting in front of the right rear tire. No cat, no muffler, straight through. Actually isn't very loud at all, and runs very well. Then installed new U joints.
While all of this was going on, the body of the truck was at a bodyshop being prepped for a complete repaint. The bed was replaced with a new/used bed. The outside of the original bed was fine, but it looked like the previous owner may have hauled gravel or rocks in the bed. In any event, the inside of the bed was all dimpled up. So, found a good used replacement bed, and installed it.The body was completely prepped, and repainted. What little bodywork it needed was done, and the truck was sprayed the original Ford white, in a base coat/clear coat, 2 stage paint.Once that cured, the entire truck was wet sanded, then cut with rubbing compound, then polished, and finally waxed! This thing is awesome!! The reflection is a mile deep. Note: This truck had/has ZERO rust! California always, no rust.
Then, we installed a cold air intake, did all of the usual lube, oil, filter, etc. Bought a set of Rims, and put on a new set of LT315/75/R16's. I forget what make the rims are, but they look very good. The tires ride really quiet, and handle fantastic on the street, as well as the dirt. Then installed a new fuel pump, filter, fuel hoses, and lines.
The body was then put back on the frame with all new bushings. Then everything (fenders, doors, bed, cab) was squared, plumbed, leveled, and adjusted to fit just right. Installed aftermarket clear headlights, marker lights, and taillights. Installed a new Ruenel chrome rear bumper, had a custom class IV 2" receiver hitch built and installed (lift kit).
On the inside of the cab, almost everything was removed, cleaned and reinstalled. It has cruise control, power windows, power door locks, tilt steering, CD stereo, etc. etc.
Put new power window motors in both doors, put in new swing pedal bushings for the clutch/brake pedals. aftermarket shifter handle, Tri pod of gauges on the A pillar. Stereo. New Injector O rings, Pinion nut, power steering hoses, A/C hoses, A/C compressor, interior door handles, and finally a new windshield, and seal.
So, as you can see, there was a lot of time, labor, parts, and money put into this job. The truck draws attention like you cant believe. everywhere I go, it's horns honking, and thumbs up! So, If you're shy, and don't like attention, this probably isn't the truck for you. But, the overall product I'm very happy with. Starts, runs, drives, shifts, and stops very well. Really comfortable and quiet going down the highway, and everything works as it should, including the ice cold A/C.
The winning bidder is going to be getting one heck of a truck. I have done all of the work myself, and I still have $14K in receipts for everything. The reserve is Waaaay lower than that. Good luck bidding!
Bye the way, I can store the truck, free of charge, for up to 1 month, while the buyer arranges transportation. Please check on transportation costs, BEFORE bidding.
