Accompanying the Mustang is the most extensive folder of original documentation and life long receiptsyou mayever see! Please just take a moment to re-read what was just said and allow that to sink in before we move forward...
I would like to begin with a little back story on this BEAUTIFUL machine. This car was purchased in 1967 on July 29th by a prominent local Crawfordville lady for her Daughter. Together, they made the 2 hourdrive over to Panama City, Florida and pulled into COOK-WHITEHEAD FORD INC. at 730 WEST 15TH STREET where the current FORD dealership still sits today. It was then that the Daughter spotted the Frost Turquoise 1967 Mustang that she would cherish for the next 50 years, almost to the day! After shaking hands with Mr. Rish, their salesman that completed their paperwork, they headed back towards the beautifulsportsman paradise ofCrawfordville. While motoring up the scenic Coastal Hwy 98, her mother pulled over about 45 minutes from home in the small fishing village of Carrabelle, and for the first time, allowed her daughter to take the drivers seat of her new pride and joy!! This car would remain in her possession until now, when she peacefully accepted that it was time to pass her beloved Mustang on to another appreciative owner as she can no longer see her in the garage undriven due to personal reasons.
On to the Mustang itself:
CONDITION. This 1967 mustang has a beautiful, always rust free and always garage kept body with doors and trunkthat shut like new with zero sag. No rust bubbles. Rock solid. No replacement or patch panels. Solid cowls, solid floors, not undercoated. Solid trunk lid and trunk drop offs. Rockers, torque box, bottom of doors, inner and outer fender wells and all other panels are all the solid originalfactoryFORD metal it left the assembly line with. As pictured, the fender apron vin numbers match the build sheet as well as the title, data plate, sale recipt etc so there is no doubt about the authentication. The smooth body shows only a few minimal shopping cart "dings/chips" overall. The body lines are very straight and true to the era with only the hood-to-fender gap showing some minor signs of contact to each others edgesover the years. The car was brought back to its original luster in 1986 with its one and only repaint ( receipt to verify)and they did a beautiful job. The only known damage ever done to the body in its entire life was a dent in the passenger quarter that was fixed during the repaint in 1986 that shows on that receipt as 1.5 labor hours to repair and was done at that time. The other is from a flat tire that chipped the paint and moved the lip ofthelower quarter behind the drivers rear tire and is virtually unnoticeable unless pointed to. The stunning original color of Frost Turquoise GLOWS to this day with excellent shine and no fade, checking or crackingto speak of. Everybody comments on how well this color suits the Mustang. The interior is EXCELLENT with no rips, no burns and no cracks in the original dash or upholstery and nice original carpet that has always had mats in the foot wells. All of the seats are soft and supple with originalfoam that is still full & supportive. The headliner was replaced in 1986 ( receipt to verify)and is beautiful and tight to this day.
Mechanical: The included documentation of the mechanical upkeep and service on this 1967 MUSTANG is extensive and speaks volumes to the level of care this "cream puff " Mustang was treated to throughout its history. Literally, thousands of dollars in maintenance receipts SINCE NEW are included! The vehicle is numbers matching original from motor to axle. The 289 2bl v8and transmission have extensive service documentationstarting with the 6 and 12 month factory service intervals, oil changes, filters, fluid flushes etc from the 70s through 2017. Just to name a few items; The heads were treated to a valve job on 2/27/86. The exhaust pipes, muffler, tailpipes and clamps were redone on 4/23/86. The am/fm stereo was put in on 2/7/87 and still sound great! More recently, the entire fuel tank, sending unit, filler neck and gaskets were completed on 3/1/04 as were the radiator, shocks, tie rods, alternator and water pump. In just the past few months, in preparation to sell she has been treated to new rear brake drums and wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, new thermosta, new spark plugs and a new battery. She cranks right up and drives down the road nicely. Minor hesitation in the carb. Temperature stays nice and cool and she does not burn oil. Before labeling her 100% every day driver road worthy, I would advise the carb to have a thorough inspection and possibly install the rebuild kit that is included with the vehicle for peace of mind as well as adjust the brakes to the new drums. If my service mechanic can do so before the end of the auction i will have this done by the sale date. Either way, it would be no more than a few hours of work in the hands of a competent mechanic. Under hood/engine will need a good detailing to be show ready but presents very original with canvas washer bag and all. The car is set up for A/C and heat and has all the original vents, controls, and evaporator in the dash, however the compressor, lines and condenser were removed from the engine bay at some point and are not included but we do still have the a/c compressor bracket. All the trim and bumpersare original and straight with appropriate age shown, and that is the true charm of this car!(bumpers are very straight with minor pitting as well as door handles etc.) One small ding in hood lip molding, hood not affected. All the glass is good, all the lights work as well as the rest of the electrical system such as alt and wipers! Overall the car would rate as an A-to-B++ and needs no excuses made. She is not represented as PERFECT but most certainly nicer than any other original car I have seen and would show nicely and make an excellent drive in cruiser, husband and wife weekender or parent/child memory maker and she can be enjoyed AS IS. Don't buy a headache, this is your ride!
Documentation: Where to start! Included in the sale will be all the original paperwork that came with the car including the ORIGINAL FACTORY BUILD SHEET, the service data platewith the 1967 FORD Maintenance Folio, the 1967 FORD warranty card, the 1967 Mustang Owners Manual with original purchaser info and date stamped inside all of these, insurance cards/ document, auto registrations, inspection slips E.T.C. Not to mention the vast expanse of receipts! Not all will be pictured but all will be included.
