1957 Ford Fairlane SUNLINER CONVT - 312 V-8

Barn find with 13,9XX miles on the odometer...may be actual ! Has the 312v8 with a 4bbl carb.

This car was just pulled out of a home garage where it sat untouched or driven for 13 -15 years. Car may have been white when new and looks like it was repainted but it looks like a very old paint job due to some rust and fading.
Only dents in car are on the hood...all other body panels are straight.
The floorpans are hard to see very well due to the mufflers being right under the drivers front half but i do see a hole at the pass rear floor and some in the front wheel wells . Cant see the other parts of the floor but the trunk floor is very solid and the only trunk floor hole that I can see is in the spare tire wheel well which is shown in one of my pics of the underside of the car in the rear. Very heavy undercoating all under the car so it appears it was well preserved. Some bodywork is bubbling around rockers and randomly near wheel well openings but the lower doors are nice ( see pic of drivers underside door ), door frames and pillars are nice and trunk lip is solid all around as well as trunk lid is in great shape. There are some rust holes present at random spots around the car which for a 60 year old car isnt bad.
Windows roll up/down and drivers door glass has a very small 1/2" crack at top front corner. Windshield is cracked but I see they are available for $400-$500 online.
Interior ( seats ) are very nice. Not original from what I can see but a not bad for the age of car and would be OK to use as is if the car was put on the road as a driver. Carpets are dingy but not in bad shape. Convertible top has a few bad spots and not water tight and will need to be replaced however it does cover up the car to some degree if you have to store the car outside with a tarp. Convertible top frame is intact but inside the car above driver area has one rust hole about the size of peach.
All chrome /stainless trim is present and some will need dent repair on the pass rear top 1/4 panel trim as it has some dents in the trim.
Engine starts but I think a valve is stuck from sitting so long. I got it running on either and it was popping thru the carb so I shut it down before anything bad happened. Gas is old and stale ( can smell it ).
Car rolls and steers but has no brakes.
