1932 Ford Roadster

If you want to own yet anther red or black '32 Ford roadster, just like everyone else's, well, move on, because this one isn't for you. On the other hand, if you appreciate expert craftsmanship that borders on art, an unflinching dedication to tradition, and a look that will get attention simply because it's NOT black or red, then this incredible '32 hi-boy is exactly what you need.Built by the experts at Adams Rod Shop in Calhoun, Georgia, it uses a fiberglass body by Kaenan Performance to replicate the original '32 Ford look. And it totally nails it. It's 100% tradition, so it isn't altered, smoothed, or otherwise modified, keeping everything that makes the '32 Ford so timeless. The belt molding has a subtle orange pinstripe, but that's the only graphic interference on the design, and we love it. Finish quality is exemplary and with just 717 miles on the build, it remains in as-new condition without a mark on it. The tan paint isn't flashy, but this rod definitely gets attention because it's not following the same path as everyone else, and if you are the guy lucky enough to own this rod, we're guessing you'll keep it forever because it'll always look good. A Vee'd spreader part makes it look racy and we love the big commercial-style headlights perched down low on the frame, making this car look elemental and raw, which contrasts beautifully with the incredible finish quality. Out back it's got '32 Ford taillights on delicate chrome stalks, as well as another chrome spreader bar, but that's about it as far as detailing. Minimalism at its best. The interior is fully finished in brown leather and it lets the workmanship do all the talking. Nothing flashy, just factory-style pleats, simple designs, and a beautiful look. The sisal carpets are bound in more brown leather, giving it a very tailored look, and there's just a single strip of chrome running through the door panels for accent. A simple 3-spoke wheel recalls the dirt track racer look and the gauges are modern Auto Meter dials that look like they were ripped right out of the 1930s. No radio, no heater, nothing to get in the way of having fun in your hot rod, although it does have a Sid Chavers Bop Top with side curtains just in case the weather turns on you along the way. There's also a beautifully finished trunk; just check out that beautiful aluminum hinge assembly!Since this car was about looks and function, there's a 350 cubic inch Chevy crate motor under the hood. With 290 horsepower on tap, it's plenty quick yet it'll never give you a bit of trouble if you take care of it. Finned Edelbrock valve covers look vintage, and you can tell they spent a lot of time hiding the plumbing and electrical parts for a very clean presentation. Just check out hos the plug wires are hidden under the black coated headers. A big radiator and electric fan keep it cool under all conditions and there's a simple Edelbrock 4-barrel carb up top. A TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a Ford 9-inch with 3.00 gears inside suggest that this car was built to be easy to drive, and it's beautifully sorted so anyone can get in and go at a moment's notice. The front suspension is traditional, with a transverse leaf spring and 4-inch dropped axle, while out back it uses a SoCal Speed Shop 4-link with coil-overs. Everything was either chromed or powder-coated so it'll look good practically forever and even the exhaust was treated to keep it out of sight. Traditional 16-inch Ford disc wheels were fitted with beautiful hubcaps and staggered old-school radials for a very '50s look. This is just a beautiful car in every sense of the word. Experts built it and it demonstrates impeccable taste. Fully documented, this is the rod you've always wanted, even though you may not have known it until now. Call today!
