Description:

1965 Ford F-100 Truck Pickup

For sale:Original survivor 65 Ford F100 from the western high desert, sold new in Wyoming and lived in Montana it's whole life. Owned by an elderly gent and purchased from his estate by the fellow I got the truck from, I think I'm the third owner. Decent, honest old pickup truck that is ready to use with a little sorting for runs to the Home Depot or breakfast with the guys. Solid platform for a full restoration if that's the way you want to go.
Exterior: Original Chrome Yellow paint still shines, with just the right patina. Plenty of character scratches and dings from use, most notable along lower driver side, tailgate area and roof. Very little rust, here in the land of the sagebrush and the prickly pear cactus it's arid country and sand, not salt is used on the roads. Surface rust inside box, under original floor mats and some minor rust underneath - very dry overall. Original survivor truck, nothing has been undercoated or covered up, and what you see is what you get. See pics at Photobucket album below. Chrome is not pitted, original Carlite windshield has a crack. Mirror glass on both side mirrors needs to be replaced, I got a quote of $20 from local glass shop. Drivers door hinges have started to wear and may need pins and bushings soon, or at least door adjustment.

Interior: All original driver condition. Inside paint is decent and dash bezel is bright and clean. Chrome has no serious pitting. Most everything is working including all gauges, heater, radio etc - see summary below. Original seat upholstery and foam is torn on driver side under the blanket seat cover. I have the sun visors, they need reconditioning. Overall clean and very presentable.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out well, no smoke or major leaks. Doesn't heat and runs very smooth. Purrs, actually. Original bulletproof drivetrain consists of 352 big block FE, 4 speed trans and 3.50 nine inch rear. 93k miles is indicated as actual on title and I am certain it is. I recently had the truck serviced and checked over by a professional Ford mechanic. Engine has decent oil pressure, does have some bearing noise at light throttle, but it's not a death rattle and mechanic says it will run a long time as is. Trans shifts smooth and steering feels tight. Stops fine for manual brakes but it does pull to one side sometimes. Really fun to drive - I've putted around town with it, no big road trips but it does certainly draw a crowd everywhere I stop.
Misc: This truck is 52 years old and is not new, old trucks do need attention and upkeep, so adjust your expectations accordingly. That's part of the charm of the hobby. This is as solid and original truck as you're going to find, and there is NO RESERVE so the truck will sell.

TRUCK RUNS WELL but flying in and driving it home a long distance probably isn't a good idea. Montana is a rural state with long stretches of desolate highway with poor cell service. Reasonable transport is available. Title is clear and in my name.

You are welcome and encouraged to personally inspect the truckprior to bidding.I'm not a dealer, I don't do this for a living, I'm an enthusiast. If you'd like any detailed photos of a specific area of the truck, just ask! I have many photos of it but will be glad to take more if needed. Please ask any questions you like before bidding. You will be answered quickly and honestly.Transport isreadily available, and probably cheaper than fixing rust on an eastern tetanus truck. Buyer needs to get insurance as soon as truck is paid for as I will cancel mine at that time.
