This truck came from a farm estate in the wooded rural area of Southeast Texas in Jasper, TX. Was only used occasionally which is reflected in the beautiful condition of the interior.
Mechanically: (Keep in mind, we are non-mechanic females who are more into vintage fashion than cool vintage trucks like this one, but will try to describe it the best we can. ;)
Truck has started every time. Today when we went to start it, it kept trying to turn over even after it was turned off by the key..until the battery died. Was told it probably has an ignition switch or starter solenoid problem. Before then, the key would sort of stick going in or out, but started right up strong every time.
When it starts, it idles smooth & steady. Seemed to idle a little high at 1.5 on the tach. Since we were told it was only driven occasionally & the fact that the gas gauge may not be working properly, we only took it for a short test drive around the block. The big V8 5.0L has alot of power. Steers, turns, & brakes well. Has dual fuel tanks. Front fuel tank gauge reads over Full. When switched to rear fuel tank, the gauge needle moves to E & turns off the engine. A/C blows but does not blow cool. Electric windows roll up & down smoothly, except for passenger side starts sticking about 1/3 way up. All lights inside & out work. Radio & windshield wipers need to be replaced. Tires show wear & probably need replaced. Would replace fluids before driving on a regular basis. Missing key for door entry so would need to be rekeyed before locking doors.
5 digit mileage gauge shows 24840. Estimated at a low 124,840 based on the very little wear of the brake & gas pedals. Original owners manual included.
Cosmetically:
Super clean Beautiful interior with very little wear & no tears to seats or carpet! Bench style seat with drop down armrest. Very little wear on the drivers side. Passenger side looks unused or was used rarely. No tears on fabric. Non-smoker truck - the ashtray only has a few tiny rust spots inside from holding a few metal screws, bolts. The dashboard & fabric ceiling are in excellent condition with no cracks or tears. The passenger door armrest pad is loose. Has a rifle gun rack behind seat.
Original paint. Silver paint shows peeling. Light surface rust in areas see pics. Tree limbs had fallen on top of cab causing dents as shown in pics. These could probably be popped back out from the inside. There is also an impression on side of bed with a crimp at the bottom (see pics). Passenger headlight has inside condensation & yellow side lense has a small area of putty covering a hole or crack. Small chip on edge of back glass.
