Description:

1967 Ford Mustang 428 PI Engine and C6 Auto

This Auction is for an original 1967 fastback body that needs restored. many new parts are included. A 428 cubic inch police interceptor engine and a C6 automatic tranny. Also included is a complete front suspension kit ordered for this car to remove the shock towers and upgrade the brakes steering and suspension. The car body was originally a 289 2V with a C4 auto. It was Vintage Burgundy with black std. interior with a fold down rear seat. It came with power steering. The previous owner removed the original engine and C4 and got rid of them. The body will need at least floor pans, left side torque box and floor support. these parts come with the car. There is a drivers side door skin as well. The qtr. panels will need patched or replaced as needed. The rear frame rails all look good to me. All the original glass is with the car. I think all the interior panels are in good shape, the trap door has had speakers installed in it.See pictures and call for more info on the condition of the body. The previous owner purchased the 428 PI engine to go in the car. He said it was a very strong and good running engine when they removed it from the car it was in. I pulled the oil pan and valve covers off it to inspect it. (see pictures) It has a C6ME-A block casting It has a 1U 428 crank with Lemans Rods and appears to be new pistons. the whole short block assembly appears to have been balanced and blue printed. It has a double Roller timing chain and gear set in it. It has a deep oil pan with modified pickup and had a windage tray as well. The engine looked clean inside. The heads are 390 GT style heads that have the 16 bolt CJ style exhaust pattern. The casting number on the heads are C8AE-H and they look to have been reworked as well. It has a C6AE Ford aluminum Police interceptor intake manifold. and ford chrome valve covers. I have a Mallory unilite distributor that I will let go with the engine as well. It has the 428 auto flywheel that was with the engine when it was balanced as well as a C6 automatic transmission that had been rebuilt with a shift kit installed before it was ran. It worked well when it was taken out I was told. The suspension kit was purchased for the car by the previous owner as well. It is all complete ready to be installed in the car. He said he wanted the extra room for the 428 engine and the disk brakes and rack and pinion steering as well. It is a nice kit that was ordered for this car body with an FE engine. (see pictures) The good thing about this car body is that It has not been pieced together with left over parts. It has the original numbers in the original inner fenders and the buck plate tag and the original door tag. The interior and glass all came in this car. Its all there mostly, I just don't have time to do this project now and I need to free up some room in my shop. I have bought and sold and restored a lot of 67-8 mustangs over the years and if you are interested you should call me and I can answer any questions you may have about the car and engine and suspension kit. Please feel free to come and inspect all of it for yourself or at least call with any questions before bidding. I will expect a1,000 dollar deposit within 48 hours of auction end and funds will have to clear my bank before anything can be picked up or shipped. I have a fair reserve price set for this project package. but I do not share it. I have the car for sell locally as well. I have a 9" rear end that would work in this car as well if the winning buyer is interested in purchasing separately. Thanks Roy Grubb. 423-276-5334
