1966 Ford Fairlane Fairlane

I purchased this car about a year ago from Classic Car Liquidators for much more than I am listing it here for. Couple of reasons, I lost my mind and bought a Shelby GT500 last week on ebay and now I have to get rid of this (soon). Wife is a little grumpy about the garage situation. Secondly, this is too much car for her and she wont drive it. Here is what I know to the best of my ability;
General Information;
> This is not an original GT Model but was apparently a 289 version as a baby.> Someone (not me and dont know) installed a big block built 460 in the engine bay. It at least is cammed and has what appears to be an 850 double pumper on it along with an aftermarket intake and valve covers, electronic ignition, steel lines and hoses etc. (will melt the rear tires if you get in it).> Engine runs good and does not smoke.> Has a new radiator and electric cooling assistance (switch under dash).> It has a Ford 9 inch code "N" rear end that is set up for ladder bars (brackets in place)> It is equipped with air shocks and the suspension has been checked and there are no issues.> C-6 transmission - B&M Gate shifter - Working Tach and Hood mounted oil pressure and temp gauges that work. The shifter can be a little tricky if you havent used one before. The transmission shifts correctly in all gears.> Dual exhaust new that is loud....has just been checked and re-welded.> Front disc brakes - standard drums on the back - working e-brake. Brakes could use a bleeding but will stop the car.> All of the lights and signals work.> Currently pinned hood with functional scoop and filter setup. (see below)> Trunk deck and wheel wells look good and the underside is coated or painted and looks good (with previous repairs) - see below.> Glass is good with no cracks or big chips.> Tires - the rear tires are good, front are fair because the previous owner didnt have the car aligned properly.> The car rides and drives smoothly and there are no major noises.> Seats are later model buckets in excellent condition.
What I have done to it;
> I dont like the scoop sticking out of the hood so I ordered a specially fabricated fiberglass tear drop hood (that cost the better part of a grand). This is still in the box and comes with the purchase of the car (so make room to haul it).> Made the car passable to Missouri inspection - horn button, fully welded exhaust, new seat belts in front, replaced the right tie rod and had the vehicle aligned.> New oil - Royal Purple 10-30 so it should be changed again in a few thousand miles.> The carpet was poor and I was concerned about the pans so I tore out and replaced the carpet with new model specific carpet (black) and checked the pans. There was some surface rust so I cleaned them, applied rust stop and used a polyurethane coating on the entire body pan.I also added sound and temperature insulation to the front half of the car.> I replaced the barrier between the cab of the car and the trunk.> I replaced all of the spark plugs and checked the ignition system.
What you need to know;
> This is not a "show quality" car. Whoever painted this did so in a garage without dust control so the paint has portions that have dust in it but the body panels look good.> The paint is chipped in several places with the largest being on the right side of the trunk lid (about the size of a quarter. There are other general imperfections. I dont know if a good wet sand would remove most of this or not.> Interior is very good but the back seat is the original red color, I used a seat cover for this but its a little small and should be replaced.> Battery is weak and will need to be replaced.> Headliner looks good but has pulled away a little in the back glass area.> The front seal on the C-6 tranny appears to have a small leak. That said, it was overfull when I received it and had the shop put some seal conditioner in it. I expect this was from sitting.> Mag wheels are generally good but have some chipping around the log holes in the right rear mag.> The car does not have air conditioning though I expect it could be added.> The windows work but the regulators are hard to operate and should be replaced at some point.
I have a movie clip of the sound of the car - running that I can send to you if need be. The vehicle is located in Blue Springs Missouri and I highly recommend you see the car in person if possible.
Buyers are strongly encouraged to ask additional questions, request additional photos and/or inspect the car before bidding. That's so you can be 100% certain of what you are buying, because your bid is binding and there are no returns. The car is sold as is, where is, with the warranty described above. Shipping and international arrangements if necessary, are the responsibility of the buyer, though I shall make all effort to assist. Buyers with negative or under 10 feedback MUST contact me prior to bidding. If you do not, your bid may be removed without warning. Car is for sale locally and therefore the auction may end early. I recommend bidding early, not only in the final seconds. Because if a local offer exceeds the high bid, the auction will end early.

Update; I did drive the car again this week and the front transmission seal still appears to be leaking (not horrible but still leaking). I expect that it may need to be replaced. I don't feel right about selling it with that issue without offering $500 off of the final price to the winning bidder to replace the seal.
