1953 Ford F100 Rat Rod Project IFS/4-Link
1953 Ford F-100 none
Got this truck when I bought a bunch of other Ford parts. It's really cool, but not really my 'cup of tea'.
It was being set up for a chop top conversion. The body is in pretty good shape for being 64 years old. The floor pan, rockers, and front clip are really good. The doors have some rust on the bottom, and the bed needs some work, but the rear fenders are pretty good. I have what looks like the roof, but I think some pieces are missing. The man I got it from is checking to see if he can track down more of it. There are lots of parts around for these old trucks, including complete bed kits!
The frame looks to be in very good condition. The rear section appears to have been "boxed". It has what I understand is a Mustang II front end with IFS and disc brakes. I believe the rear axle is a 9" with a 4-link setup. It has some surface rust, but you would re-finish everything anyway if you were completing the project.
I think the project was being set up for airbag suspension. The tires have dry rot, but the 17" Centerline alloy wheels are in nice shape, and I have all 4 center caps. The rear wheels I think are 10" wide, and the fronts are 8" wide.
I've done some searching and there's actually a lot of parts available for these old fifties trucks on Ebay and other parts vendor sites.
