Description and some history:

"Project car." Off road for 30+ years. Likely since the original owners in the late 1970's. A relative of the original owners started restoration in the late 1980's and did extensive work in 2008. The car was sold to a second owner who had it for about 6 years. I have had it for the last 6 months, and MUST sell due to personal circumstances. I cannot vouch for how professional (or not) some of the restoration work has been. (For example I did notice that the bolts for the new gas tank do not line up, and some work will be needed there.) That said, here's the description:

Original Buffalo NY car. How many survived? (Sadly, my first car was one that did not.) This is a "rust belt" survivor due to extensive rust repair. The car has replacement fenders, doors, quarter panels, front and rear valences, front fender aprons, rear frame rails, rear wheel wells, torque boxes, inner rockers; and the floors and lower cowl area have been repaired. The car has the original drive train. The 289 was rebuilt in 2008, and the C4 trans reconditioned. All new front suspension and brakes. New rear springs. (See extensive list of new parts below.) Rangoon red paint in 2008. ($4,500 receipt) The paint is mostly intact but has sustained a few chips, mostly on the hood including a large one visible in the pictures. The tires are brand new BFG's on the original steel wheels, with the original hub caps. (one a bit dented) The interior and the convertible top need a complete redo. I have the original seats and console; and the top frame, cylinders, and motor.

Partial list of new parts on the car:

- engine rebuilt 2008, "0" miles (run 1x after rebuild), includes new starter, starter relay, water pump, fuel pump, cap, rotor, wires, points, condenser, voltage regulator, rad. hoses, belts, and oil pan.

- C4 trans reconditioned 2008

- front springs, shocks, tie rods, control arms, sway bar links, spindles, wheel bearings, brake shoes, hardware, drums, wheel cylinders, brake hoses, etc.

- rear springs, gas tank, front and rear bumpers, grill, fog lights, tail lights, park lights, etc.

Partial list of new parts not on the car:

- complete dual exhaust with GT "trumpet" tips thru the valence.

- all new brake parts including lines(+ gas line), master cylinder, and parking brake cables.

- Scott Drake horn ring, Scott Drake sunvisor mounts and hardware, stainless conv. header molding.

- fuel sender, rear shocks, engine harness, all power steering hoses.

- many new seals and weather strips etc.

Summary:

A nice project for someone to complete. Much of the big money and labor has been done. When completed it will be a nice '65 Mustang Convertible with it's original drive train. (or a restomod or whatever you have a vision for.)

Documents:

Many of the receipts for parts and work. Totaling about 12K in the receipts I do have. I have the original April 13, 1965 dealer's temporary registration, the original owner's manual, and the ownership history.

Transfer of ownership docs:

New York State does not title older vehicles, so you will get: NYS statement of ownership for non-titled vehicles, NYS certification of sale and transfer for 1972 or older vehicles, and a NYS bill of sale.

Shipping:

You must arrange for your own pick up and shipping. Car is a "roller" and not running. The brakes are not functioning yet. I strongly recommend a covered transport. I will carefully pack and fit all the parts into the car to simplify pick up. The top frame will only be sitting in place and folded. There is a car cover, but I don't see that working well at 65+ mph on an open trailer or flat bed.

Payment:

$500.00 down payment through PayPal due at auction close. Balance must clear before car is picked up.

Questions:

Preferred method is through ebay email. But I can also be reached through text or call, at 716-472-2375. (ask for Jim)
