1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 / torino, fairlane, cougar
1969 Ford Mustang
This will be the last time this car will be listed.Only selling to support a business venture.
Offered here is a 1969 Boss 302. This is a numbers matching car in Acapulco blue. This is the second rarest color for the 69 Boss 302. Though I don't think I need to share the rare part because if you are viewing this auction thenyou already know what these cars are about and how few there are. I believe the total production number was only 1,628 units built for 1969. Enough said about rare.
The motor the car was born with still exists under the hood and is not a replacement block as the vin code is stamped on the back of the block, the transmission is the top loader 4 speed wide ratio, which I believe to be original as well and it hasthe 3:91 geared 9" 31 spline rear end. The shifter looks to be a 70 competition plus shifter, though I can't say with certainty. I have seen 69 cars with this shifter but I don't believe it to be the original. The carburetor is a Holley 650dual feeddouble pumper from my stock pileand is not original to the car. Original carb did not come with it when I purchased it. The car is missing air cleaner parts, smog parts and rev limiter. Again, none of these things were present when I purchased the car. Also the car runs headers instead of exhaust manifolds. There is no power steering only power disc brakes which were standard on these cars.
The car will need sheet metal work/rust repairin the quarters and the paintleaves something to be desired as it appears to have been re sprayedin the late 70's maybe early 80's. Not a great job, its a 20 footerbut the car looks great going down the road. So yes, the car runs and drives. It is truly is a time capsule. The structure of the car i.e. frame rails, torque boxes etc. are solid. the floors have small rust areas at the rear floor drain plugs, nothing significant that I can remember. I don't remember seeing any thing else there. Quarters will need work, driver door has bubbles on the bottom corners on the skin onlybut the underside of doors are clean. There is no rust on the fenders andthey are the factory rolled fenders. Rockers are all solid. Door jams and post area are solid. The inner fender aprons on the top will need some attention.
The interior is the black standard with no rips or tears in the seats. the rear quarter interior panels were cut to mount speaker (sign of the times) for the am/fm 8 track player (not original) again sign of the times. The rim blow steering wheel in one of the photos will not come with the car, I will reinstall the original. Though I will sell it separately, it is a restored original wheel not after market
The car has the factory front and rear spoilers and Magnum 500 wheels.
I bought this car in 2011 and it took about 5 years to convince the then owner to sell it to me. The car prior to me purchasing it sat in storage since 1984. At least that is what the last inspection sticker stated. I think the car had 52,000 miles at that time and it may be up to 54, 55something like that. I now have not driven the car for 2 years and it sits in storage.
do have the Marti report and the Emminger report for this car.
This is a great opportunity to own one of Fords coveted 69 Boss 302 cars. If you have questions please ask and I will answer the best that I can. I do encourage you to view the car as I will make time to show it if you contact me.
There is a reserve on the auction asthis is not a give away; though anyone selling a 69 Boss 302 is giving something away. Maybe their soul. (just my opinion) Selling only because I have too many coals on the fireand need to unload some things.
Please no scammers. Also have your affairs in order before bidding.I willrequire a$1,000.00 non refundable depositon the purchase to show you re serious about the purchase. The balance will need to be paid via bank check, wire transfer or cash. The car will not be released till all funds have cleared my bank. I have a clear title in hand.
Shipping arrangements and associated costs arethe responsibility of the purchaser.
Good luck and happy bidding.

Have had questions about the rust condition on the car. I thought that I was clear in my description that it will require sheet metal and the paint is not good. So there are no surprises I will say the car needs restoration. Please expect to replace/repair items on the car.
All lights do work but for one inside turn signal bulb in the dash. Even the cigarette lighter and windshield wiper washer work. I will tell you all again, it is a time capsule.
I do have a typo on the listing you all should know about. The transmission is a 4 speed CLOSE ratio andNOT awide ratio. Most of you would prefer this.
If you bid expecting a wide ratio transmission then you are welcome to pull your bid. Sorry for the mistake.

I was asked to take photos of the rust areas and so I did. unfortunately I don't know how to pull them from my phone and put them on here. If you like you can send an email address or a text number and I can send them along.
Also the car actually only has 53,199 original miles. It will break 53,200 today as I get it out of storage for someone to view.

I was also asked about the distributor in the car, if it was original. The distributor is not original and I believe it is a 289 hipo distributor according to the previous owner. I don't know the numbers to determine that. That was a great question and I apologize to all for missing that when I wrote up the description.
