1966 Bronco U14 Half Cab with Full Top Project or Hunting Rig

Listed for auction is an excellent hunting truck or project truck. This Bronco is a factory original half cab which is designated by its U14 vinprefix. The matching vin number is clearlystampedon the frame. The Bronco does run and drive but i would consider this a project that will need a little attention prior to taking off on a 500 miletrek. This Bronco is remarkably solid in the door post and striker areas, howeverthe rear bed area is a little soft. This Bronco has been used a deer lease truck in Iowa for several years so the as you would expect the body has some dents.
This is an early vin 66 which would have come from the factory with a couple 66 only items such as an "eyebrow" grille. This Bronco still has the eyebrow grille in place along with the OEM 66 front bumper.
This Bronco is an excellent platform for a project build or keep it a trail runner. The frame is extremely solid and straight the rear axle is ford 9" with 4:11 gears and the front axle is a dana 30 with 4:11 gears also. The transmission is a ford 3 speed with a floor shifter which is a little sloppy. I have theoriginal column shift parts to convert it back. I also have several other parts that i have been collect for this projecthoweverthey are not included with the sale, but can be purchasedseparately. Tires are 31" x 9.5 supper swampers which happen to ride very rough down the road but are excellent for the trail.
Drive TrainThe engine runs strong but will need a tune up. The engine does not leak or burn oil, the drive axles andtransfer case are also very dry. The brakes work fine, keep in mind this is a single master cylinder system with manual adjusting brake shoes. I'm sure the brakes could use some adjusting. The exhaust system needs a tailpipe put on and a donut gasket by the manifold.
