MotoeXotica Classic Cars is pleased to present yet another iconic and beautiful 1966, four-speed, A code Ford Mustang Convertible. This Candy Apple Red Mustang, assembled in Ford’s Dearborn, Michigan factory on December 1, 1966, was originally ordered for delivery to the St. Louis, Missouri area.

The car’s most recent former owner, a Mr. Elston of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, paid for a major Mustang restoration over the past two years. The car has the following new items – interior, top, brakes, wiring, tires, wheels, radiator, exhaust system, steering wheel, bumpers and badging, gas tank, floorpan lined with Dynamat, new carpet and Mustang floor mats with logo.

Finished in Candy Apple Red (paint code T), the paint shows well with a high degree of shine and luster. All trim pieces are present and have brilliant finishes. The headlights and taillights are in very good condition with no hazing or cracks. The new white power top only has minor blemishes upon close inspection and is in overall great shape. The body panels are laser straight in overall good condition. The windshield and other glass sections are in good shape, too.

Inside, the new interior is inviting. New parchment vinyl bucket seats are in very good shape over the new dark red carpet. Overall, the new wood steering wheel, gear shifter, door panels that match the seats and new dashboard go perfectly with the rest of the car’s interior and look fantastic. The heater and blower are inoperative but car comes with factory AM radio and Mustang floor mats.

This nicely presented Mustang features a 289 V-8 engine with a four-barrel carburetor (A code) making 225 horsepower and buttoned to a four-speed manual transmission. There are new styled steel wheels with red Mustang center caps mounted within new 6.95-14 BFGoodrich/Coker Silvertown 660 bias-ply tires. Car has new wiring and new brakes and dual exhausts are routed through the rear valance panel, GT style.

The 1964 introduction of the Mustang created a new class of automobile known as the pony car. The Mustang’s styling, with its long hood and short deck, proved wildly popular and inspired a host of imitators. Initially introduced as a hardtop and convertible, a fastback version went on sale the following year. Over the years, it has become the favorite subject of many custom car builders and racers.

This is a really sweet-looking convertible and not just because of its exterior color. It would make an excellent weekend cruiser or something to head to get ice cream on a warm, summer evening. GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!

Current mileage on the odometer shows 18,543 miles. It is sold as is where is on a clean and clear, mileage exempt title.
