1951 Ford F-100

I've got a unique 1951 Ford F-1 Panel truck for sale. Starting out as a rat-rod project my father started. He began with a donor car, a 1986 Ford Crown Victoria LTD, that I do have the title for (the title is“exempt”for mileage but the cluster read ~86k when he acquired it).He removed the body fromtheCrown Vic and removed the body from the F-1 and bob’s your uncle…(in all seriousness i’d be happy to explain, in detail, the process to anyone interested via PM).

The radiator and core support of the Crown Vic prevented the F-1’s inner fenders, fenders, lower fenders, headlight support panels, upper valance, lower valance, hood, and grill from fitting. Also, since the frame was now the Crown Vic’s, there were not mounts for the running board braces so the running boards weren’t a fit either. At this point my father and several of his friends decided those body panels just weren’t going to fit, and he left it at that. He had a cool little rat rod he could tool around the farm in or take his buddies up and down the private road for the chuckles of it.

I decided to give it the ole“college try”and purchased the truck from my father in that condition, without any of the front body panels fitting what-so-ever, determined to make it all fit. Again, i’mhappyto discussallthe details via PM, but I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. Everything fits like OEM with the most obvious exceptions being the grill’s fitment and the lower valance is technically up side down to help clear the bumper supports of the Crown Vic, Ford welded to the ends of the frame; safety first!

So, we’ve got a 1951 Ford F-1, with a 1986 Crown Vic full frame and drivetrain, panel truck. Meaning a 5.0 liter fuel-injected V8, AOD transmission, power steering, tilt column with Crown Vic steering wheel, front disc brakes, Mustang wheels with brand new tires in the front and worn out Hoosier’s in the rear (definitely aiding in the raked stance, but the front springs have had ~1.5 coils cut from them aswell), a perfect condition F-1 seat covered in blue cloth (just dirty), tread plate floor pan, and maybe a thing or two i’m forgetting. The frontwindshield is busted on the passenger’s side, there is no side glass, but the rear doors do have plexiglass panels in place of the original glass. The body was chemically treated with Eastwood’s rust to primer stuff and then painted (with rollers and brushes) Ford Tractor Implement Gray. There are no lights orgauges in thevehicle so it would take a little work to be street legal.

I feel like the truck is much more“there” mechanically than what mostpeople post as rat-rods. If you hop on Craigslist there’s guys with rusted out junk bodies with no drive train stuff sitting out in a field and they want $10k for. The body has it’s share of rusted out spots, dents, and other rat-rod characteristics to it, but it’s a solid, running, driving, and stopping machine!

Feel free to PM me with any questions or offers. If you’ve made it this far thanks for reading!
