1962 FORD M151 MUTT
NO RESERVE-UNCUT-M416 TraileR
Thanks for checking out my 1962 Ford M151 Mutt with matching M416 Cargo Trailer. ThisearlyMUTT is a rare uncut version and in great shape, ready for any parade and show ready. This M151 just came out of a local Museum full of Military vehicles and other classic cars owned by a 91 year old WW1 and Korean War Marine Veteran. The first series of M151 built in 1959 as 1960 models lasted until 1963. The M151 was built to take over the M38 and M38A1 models. The first series were built by Ford Motor Co. The next versionsthe military also contracted some with Kaiser and AMGeneral Corp. The M151A1 second version started in 1964-1970, and M151A2 third version was from 1970-1982. The military used these vehicles all the way up until 1999. This is an awesome vehicle, drive it anywhere, if you like lots of waves and smiles this is the one for you.If you live in the area and want to see it, Imay have it this next weekend at the"WarbirdsOver The West" Vintage Aircraft Fly In, Car Show & Living Historical Event, at McNary Field, in Salem Oregon, give me a jingle and I would love to show it to you their or at my place. Anyways, this is a NO RESERVE Auction, meaning that who ever puts in the Highest bid gets it at the end. You'll have it just in time for 4th of July Parades, and other events this summer, ending with Veterans Day in November. I have a love for these old military rigs, they are very useful, very easy to drive, justfun to have around, I drivethis one all the time, to the store, errands, etc. I grew up as a militarykidat McCord Air Force Base in Washington, andwe were stationed as well inHonolulu, Hawaii in the early 70's,were mydad served inVietnam and Cambodia, so theseold rigs have alwaysbeen part of my life in one way or another. The first set of photos you see, are at McNary ARNG Field Heliport, I was very fortunate yesterday that they let me on to the Oregon National Guard Army and Aviation Support Facility to snapsome photos along with UH-60 Blackhawk Helicopters. Give me a call would love to discuss this M151 with you, 503-910-2085, thanks Jason
The condition of this M151 is in great shape. No Rust first of all, and is a Rare Uncut version, this is the first question any one looking for a MUTT asks, and even if they say it is uncut, I look for myself, that is why I put it up on my lift so you could see it in and out. When many of these rigs went over to Vietnam, when they got shipped back they cut them into 4 separate pieces, this one escaped that, and very few are UN-CUT versions, and are the most desirable among true collectors. I took pictures underneath as well so you can see all the components. The body is in excellent shape, not over restored, these were military rigs, restored to be a very Authentic USMC military Mutt. Take a look at the pictures, and you will see this is of the nicest around for sale currently, if you have private museum or collection this M151 is a must! Also notice that these is running the early style Magnesium Wheels very hard to find, later ones had stamped steel like you see on the trailer. Yes the M416 trailer is part of the sale, and can easily fit on a transport vehicle, front of the Mutt to the back of the trailer is around 18' feet long, the size of a full size 1960's station wagon, so no problem transporting. Everything you see in the pictures comes with it, the USMC and US Flag, MVPA Flag, Working Radio, Field Phone, Camouflage Field netting, the MP helmet, googles, the M16 is not real it is just a prop you get that as well. Also, has 2 shovels,Axe and gas cans, etc etc. This is a very nice vehicle, and looks great. The trailer is in excellent shape, see the pictures, no rust everything works, lights, brakes, etc. All stencils are decals, so if you want different numbers and letters you can have them redone to match what you drove back in the day, or loved one.
Mechanically the M151 is in excellent shape. It starts right up, does not leak oil, does not blow smoke, I drive it all over the place, and it is a hoot, believe me it is an eye catcher, and when you hit the Air Raid Siren, you are going to get all types of looks. If you have ever driven a M38 or M38A1, this M151 is a different animal, very tough, but sits low, so easy to get in and out, and they ride so smooth with the independent rearend. All the lights work, the dash lights work, the Red Dash glow lights for night time use, and nighttime headlight works. It has been upgraded with an Air Raid Siren, which sounds great, not correct, but how can one resist putting one on. All the gauges work, this Mutt only has 38K on it and is in great condition. Still running its 24V system as well, with new batteries, and trickle chargers installed as well under the seat. The tires are in good shape, Military all the way around, as you probably already know these tires are not cheap. The transmission shifts good, clutch feels great no chatter, brakes are good as well. Mechanically nothing to do to it, besides just get in and drive it.
Interior is in great shape, original correct canvas seats, and canvas top in excellent shape, no rips or tears. Correct winter grill insert as well in excellent condition. No rust on the floors, everything inside is in good repair. The top does come off, and the front windshield does fold forward. Under the passenger seat is the batteries, and a compartment for jack, first aid kit etc. Overall interior is in great condition.
I have been selling classic cars here on eBay since 2003, 12 years now, with around 600 classic cars sold over the internet. What I love about these old cars, is that I get to own some of my favorite cars one at a time, I have turned this passion into a business, but for me it is an awesome time to enjoy the cars themselves. It has been such a joy to do business with people all over the world.I have sold multiple cars to many buyers all over from Europe, Dubai, Australia, Japan, Brazil, just to name a few.It has always been a pleasure, getting to know other car enthusiast all over the Continent, especially some that have become very good friends of mine because of our love for cars.I look forward to doing business here on ebay for many years to come, and look forward to meeting some other likeminded classic car nuts like myself. If you would like to call me and talk about the car, that would be great, would love to help you out, if you want to call and talk about cars, it would be my pleasure, I am on the hunt for any Interesting classics, odd ball and unique vehicles. Please, come out and personally take a look at it in person, or send a friend or inspector, or transporter, always better if possible to see it with your own eyes, I am close to major airport, and easy to get to. These are classic vehicles, with lots of history, almost years old, so they are used, not perfect, they don’t have warranties, or guarantees, they are as is, where is, nothing else is promised, I can’t possibly explain every little thing about a vehicle in writing, believe me I've tried, lol, seeing in person is always best, I try to give an good description, and normally over 75 photos at least, so you can get a good gauge of what it is, and isn’t.Look forward to hearing from you, please give me a call, 503-910-2085 - Jason
