1961 Ford Fairlane Ford Fairlane

Listing for 1961 Ford Fairlane Mayberry Sheriff squad car. As a avid The Andy Griffith Show fan or should I say junkie as I am. I wanted a Mayberry Squad car and I looked for the correct car for 4 1/2 years to find the correct car that was used on The Andy Griffith Show. I could have found plenty Galaxie 500's everywhere you looked. But the Mayberry Squad Car was never a Galaxie 500 on the show. In 1960 and 1961 the squad cars were a 1960 & 1961 Ford Fairlane and was a base model of those years. The Galaxie wasn't used until 1962 when It was a Galaxie 100 Strait base model. And again the Galaxie 500 was never used of the show. The 500's have to much chrome and trim. The squad cars were all painted flat black and flat white because of the glare from tv lights. The squad cars were never painted gloss black or gloss white as people with squad cars have done. When this squad car was being put together. I wanted it as closes to the tv show caras possible, or I wasn't going to do it. Like I stated above the car used was a Fairlane body style 58 A with the bad bubble glass. Not the flat back glass. I have completed every mechanical area of the car from a special paint job to brakes for complete brake job all brakes hoses, new brake master cylinder. Complete engine rebuilt and transmission. New carb, fuel pump, complete engine ignreplacement of all parts. New headliner, sun visors, factory seat covers, all door weather stripping all doors. Had to remove rear window to install headliner andback glass seal was replaced. New tires, seat covers. The red emergency light on top is a Mars Model RB is the same model that was used on tv squad car. Also for the fender spot light is the same model Unity that was also used on tv show. As you see in the pictures and remember the Episode 26 Season 1.The Inspector that wanted to use a bull horn to flush old Ben Sewell and he asked Barney if he had a bull horn. When Barney opened the trunk this is what was in the items that was in the trunk. In picture 18 you will see a picture of the dash in car and picture showing a toggle switch in dash. Season 2 & Episode 2 this is the switch he showed the replacement deputy how to turn on the siren. But when he went to siren off. Siren wouldn't turn off. The picture of the glove box door there are 10 autography's from actors from the show. I have pictures of Maggie Peterson (Charlene Darling) & Rodney Dillard of The Darling Boys sitting squad car. A cd radio has been added to under dash and speakers are in grill to play The Andy Show theme song inparades. This vehicle and all goes with it is for the true avid The Andy Griffith fan and lover. All items in pictures goes with the squad car except the Barney hat that was signed to me personal. It has a clear NC title and ready for new owner. A $500.00 deposit is required from buyer within 8 hours. Buyer is responsible for all shipping if vehicle has to be shipped anywhere. If any questions, please ask. This vehicle can be driven any where. I drive it to Mt. Airy, NC all the time.
