1968 Ford Mustang

If you are half of the Ford fan that I am you will be extremely pleased to read about this great car & the opportunity to acquire it!

As previously stated I love the Ford brand & Mustangs in general. Being a hobbyist in the arena of collector cars I have run across some interesting vehicles but, this special Mustang is one of my all time favorites!

Although there is much that can be said about this pony I will try to be brief in my attempt to give good insight regarding the cars history, condition and drivability.

This unique vintage Ford was ordered by a lady who was born a Texas native. She was one of the many people swept up in Mustang mania during the mid to late sixties. Amazingly she can vividly still recall every detail of the process!

It seems that after sitting on the side lines through the first three years (since the Mustangs introduction) she decided to finally get in the game.

She walked into Ken Moore Ford in Richardson Texas and filled out paperwork for what she called her “all time favorite car”!

This exciting time required her to sit down with William Moore (the actual Dealership owners brother) to complete the transaction.

I would like to say at this time that I have the original hard document (no copy) RETAIL BUYERS ORDER SHEET IN MY POSSESION!

This wonderful piece of historical paperwork will be passed on to the next potential buyer!

Here you have the true meaning of “a once in a life time opportunity”! This document also ensures that the vehicle will continue to appreciate!

The Buyers order even still shows all of the pertinent information regarding the transaction right down to her “$150 vehicle trade in allowance” (probably big bucks at that time…lol)!

One of the first things that we talked about outside of her passion for the Ford Mustang was the desire for the only color that she absolutely loved!

It is a color that you don’t see much on classic Mustangs today “EXTREMELY RARE”!

The exact designation of it as coined by Ford is

(N-Code Diamond Blue)! At any rate it is difficult to describe in essence. The color tone embodies a dual nature in regards to appearance.

In direct sunlight the exterior is very shiny and should be considered Arctic Blue to almost pearl White/ Blue “STUNNING”!

Yet at dusk the car has a hue & certain hint of Sapphire Blue!

At any rate this beautiful collector car has only been painted once outside of its original factory covering!

This task took place in 2015 at C & V Classic Restorations in Joplin Missouri (where the original owner moved to in 2005). This particular shop has a great reputation for turning out excellent work!

If you are sick of seeing the abundance of red, black & blue cars that roam free on the highways today consider this one the cure!

The color takes you back to a time when vehicles were created with character (unique)!

Ironically if people aren’t complimenting you about the cars beauty itself they are paying homage to you about the color!

The paint is simply breath taking! I was able to verify that the base coat clear method was used to apply the material on the panels.

The finished product speaks for itself. The paint is smooth to the touch and void of the common mistakes that an apprentice makes when restoring a car. Thankfully the body itself has never been involved in any collision. Each panel is straight and has great contour!

The overall appearance of this time machine is magnificent & every time she leaves the garage the masses remind you of it!

Nevertheless after the paint process was complete this pony received all new stainless & chrome!

The bumpers were actually rechromed & reconditioned! The shop and the original owner both thought it would be best to leave this beauty original as much as possible where it counted!

Most of the reproduction bumpers today aren’t comprised of the same material that the original ones were manufactured with.

This results in poor fit & improperly aligned fenders, supporting brackets & front valance.

No worries here….this Mustang stands true & has period correct gaps / lines!

It will not take a second for the serious collector to appreciate the cars structural integrity. The doors, trunk & hood shut tight and with ease “as if she just rolled of the assembly line”!

As you pass by the other drivers (who will be admiring your classic Ford) they quickly notice the beautiful authentic Mustang running pony gas cap located at the rear of your vehicle (signature piece)!

A nostalgic set of rocker panel moldings add yet more flavor & also help protect the car from road debris and damage!

Adorning the fenders are two new N.O.S. sanctioned running Mustang pony emblems! The remainder of the script & letters look amazing as well!

Again this is a very original car that still has all of the hallmark intricate detailed pieces on it.

The iconic performance vented hood with dual turn signal indicators look awesome on this Mustang! New bulbs & wire looms were installed in the vented grates so the turn signals actually still function like they did when the car was sold new!

The chrome exterior mirror happens to be in excellent shape as well!

All of the surrounding exterior glass fits properly and there’s not a single piece damaged!

One of my favorite attributes that I get questioned about frequently is the original Ken Moore Ford dealership logo (almost 50 year old) that is attached to the concave tail light panel.

This little important scripted logo validates the cars authenticity & simultaneously takes people back to the time spent on route 66!

Mrs. Holt truly cherished the car! There were family photos with captions of the car in it.

Her personal favorite was the one of her grandson driving it to his High School Graduation! She still keeps a wallet size photo of the moment tucked away in her purse!

At the end of the day this is a very special Mustang! It is very unique and extremely original! The exterior still looks great “much hasn’t changed since 1968” this one must be seen to truly be appreciated!

Now that we have had time to discuss this vintage Mustangs exterior let’s see what she has to offer inside!

Upon opening the door of this pony you will find a very inviting interior!

This old Ford was actually ordered with the beautiful Raven Black vinyl upholstery!

I would almost venture to say that the interior looks better now than it did the day she took possession of it!

It has perfect contrast against the sky blue exterior!

The original front buckets & rear bench seat upholstery was replaced by Barbs Classic Cars in St. Charles Missouri a short time ago.

They actually refurbished almost every stitch of the interior Ala cart over the last year or so.

This pony looks incredible inside & out!

There has been no stone left unturned in regards to pampering this Ford!

You will be more than encouraged to take it out for a cruise! Driving for hours on in is a sheer pleasure!

The dash pad is original to the car. It is in fantastic condition and also free from damage.

This Mustang also has a very nice set of factory standard door panels!

The door panels are in great condition & they both have fairly new window cranks, door handles and other hardware attached!

The inner quarter upholstery has been well taken care of and constantly protected by Meguires interior cleaner!

From front to rear this Mustangs interior plays its part well. The original Ford radio is still functional and still looks great! The car also has a beautiful packing tray located in back!

The front & back windshield are in pristine shape!

This Mustang has a beautiful original shifter securely fashioned inside!

Not with standing……this pony comes with a working air conditioning system!

This little accommodation a fantastic addition for the upcoming summer season!

Finally expect to find a super nice steering wheel to grip when operating this blue Oval!

It sometimes seems nearly impossible to find a classic Mustang with all of the gauges working…… “amazingly” this Mustangs gauges are operating as they should”!

The carpet in this beauty is in immaculate condition & the kick panels are sharp as well!

You will also find a nice set of pony floor mats working overtime to make sure the carpet underneath your feet is well protected “nice addition”!

There is also a super nice head liner with a nice factory dome light & original radio!

All & all the interior of this Mustang is in wonderful shape!

This is truly a stand up vehicle that is ready to be enjoyed!

This little Mustang really takes you back to 1968 each & every time you climb behind the wheel!

Peeking inside it’s hard to miss the super accommodating Hip Hugger console! This little addition looks sharp & is very convenient for keeping beverages cold & all sorts of loose items!

It’s the small things that really make this Ford a good candidate to add to your collection (or first classic car for someone).

The trunk can easily be over looked but it shouldn’t be! A Rusty trunk floor can be a nightmare ….this one is rock solid & it has a very nice molded trunk mat too boot! The mat not only looks fantastic, it also shields the trunk from inclement weather!

Now that I have given several reasons why you should love this Ford…… I will talk about yet why most Chevy guys hate it!

No Mustang can truly be considered a muscle car without having a factory V/8!

The heart and soul of this horse is its STOUT factory 289 engine! The factory engine block was rebuilt in 2013!

The motor has plenty of giddy up and simply LOVES the open road!

This vintage Ford will push you back in the seat if you open the throttle!

Although the car is very user friendly ….it still has enough power to command street respect!

She turns over with just a flick of the key at the slightest touch!

You really have to drive this one to appreciate it.

Hitting the freeway in this Mustang is simply exhilarating! There are no issues when cruising this baby for any distance or at any time! The car almost has a modern feel to it when considering how well she handles.Whenever you reach your point of destination she leaves you begging for more!

There have been several suspension components replaced to help ensure you have a comfortable ride….one good enough to take the wife out in.

This Mustang still has all of the hallmark decals in place that Ford designated the car to have before being released.

There is a new radiator installed that helps keep it cool under the hood!

Preventative maintenance has not been overlooked either.

The car has recently had new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, water pump, thermostat, valve cover gaskets, seals, fuel pump, battery, alternator, radiator hoses, belts and just too much more to list!!!

There are no words that can explain how wonderful it feels to know you can hit the road in confidence! Some owners fail to invest in their classic car where it counts. Again no worries here …this Mustang has stood the test of time!

As if it couldn’t get any better “if you buy this car without consulting your wife first”

you’ll have no problem making it to the restaurant where you can smooth things over!

Seriously…..If you have been looking for a classic Mustang that you can enjoy without issue “look no further”!

The car has had the brake system totally gone through. The system was just serviced recently and given a clean bill of health.

What would a 60’s muscle car be without a rumbling dual exhaust?

This pony can be heard coming! That is thanks in part to its chambered system! Each and every time you mash the pedal this pony sings a sweet note!

Talk about Nostalgia!

To top things off there is an excellent set spank brand new 17 inch Torque Thrust style Ralley wheels (Bull Dog aggressive stance)! Restomod look that “stops traffic”!

These mags don’t have a single scratch on em!

Every guy driving a modern muscle car can’t help but point & give you the ole thumbs up in honor of respecting the cars that started it all!

There’s yet more!

This Mustang also has a set of brand new HT Sumo Tumo Performance radials at all four corners! The tires don’t have 40 miles on them so this Mustang is ready for years on trouble free performance!

Don’t miss out on your chance to own a quality investment! You may find another pony but you will be hard pressed to find one in this condition! This Mustang has been family owned and treated as a member of it!!!

There is an old saying you get what you pay for

“In this case you will be getting more”!

The time, effort & money spent preserving this car can’t be properly measured. That being said I have set a very reasonable reserve on it! She is being offered at a fraction of what it cost to keep her in this condition through the years!

This car is very reasonably priced!

Consider this Mustang a blue chip stock in regards to investment quality at a bargain basement price!

I waited to mention the most important part last!

Buying a rusty car can & always will be a horror story! This is something that shouldn’t be taken lightly by the new potential owner of any classic car!RUST REPAIR CAN BE EXPENSIVE!!!

I have taken several detailed photos showing just how SOLID this vintage TEXAS Ford is!

This Mustang is above reproach when it comes to structural integrity!

This vehicle is ROCK SOLID! She has ORIGINAL frame, torque boxes, floor boards, NO issues!!!

These items alone can make a car priceless in regards to avoiding the frustration associated with replacement pieces!

At the end of the day what you have here is an incredible pony car that’s kool, unique & very dependable!

This is an investment grade classic car!

Car cover included.
