1974 Ford Bronco

First generation Ford Broncos are becoming extremely popular on the classic market so finding one that mixes originality with nice upgrades really amps up the desirability factor. In the case of this Bronco added attractiveness does not mean added price. This 4x4 Bronco has a healthy list of restoration receipts and it has been cared for correctly. The boxy bodywork gives this truck a real tough look but there is a lot of style as well. The original shade of candy apple red could have just as easily been used for a hot rod. This shade looks more modern on the grill where most Broncos are silver. There still is plenty of bling on this one thanks to the chrome door mirrors shiny side trim and optional chrome bumpers. Another part of this classic style is the optional swing-away rear-mounted spare tire. One nice modern upgrade is the Class III trailer hitch that allows this Bronco to tow more toys if you choose. The interior is exactly how a classic truck with real functionality should look. The floor has been sealed with a tough rhino lining and then disguised with the original factory red paint. The bucket seats have the correct white vinyl which looks especially striking when the hardtop is removed and this Bronco rides around like a classic convertible. The heater/defrost also means the temperature can drop a little more before you have to think about putting the top back on. In between the seats sits a custom center console to add comfort for everyday driving. A modern CD stereo further adds to this Bronco's usability even more. What can clearly be seen through the steering wheel is the new Sun Pro tachometer which provides welcomed additional information about what is going on with the truck. There are plenty of upgrades on this Bronco but the best one is the 302 cubic-inch V8 motor that was a factory option. This is one of the stoutest V8s that Ford offered at the time. It makes for the perfect power plant for a trail ready Bronco like this one. The 4x4 is engaged via the Dana 20 transfer case. Its grip is aided by a later set of Ford truck wheels that allow for larger tires. Among many other great things about Broncos is the short wheelbase which is ideal for scaling obstacles and tight turns. Also if anything needs to be mended after an adventurous day off road all the major mechanical pieces are shared across the Ford's robust truck line. This means even though first generation Broncos are becoming rarer everyday less than 19000 were sold in 1974 finding replacement parts is often quite simple. Please feel free to ask as many questions you have about this Bronco. If in the area please set up an appointment to come and drive it.
