1970 Ford F-100

What a nice old pickup... oh, wait a minute, check out the stance. Those giant tires. The sound of the exhaust. No, this isn't just some old pickup, this is a nasty pro-street F-100 with equal parts luxury and horsepower, making for the ideal iron fist in a silk glove. Before we get to all the horsepower, let's take a minute to admire just how good this truck looks. It was finished in the 1990s, but the paint (an Explorer hue called Dark Cranberry) is holding up beautifully. Obviously that comes from excellent prep and care, and the detail work shown on this truck suggests that it was a very expensive build. Panel fit is excellent, the doors open and close easily, and that big hood snugs down neatly against the fenders. A few tasteful modifications include shaving some trim, a custom tailgate with built-in taillights, and subtle pinstripes that highlight the truck's original sheetmetal curves. You also get some sport mirrors on the doors, replacing the clunky originals and a rear roll pan with integral license plate frame. It does show a few signs of use and age, but this is a very well-maintained truck, and as such, you can still roll into a show and attract a lot of attention with it. You can probably still haul stuff in the bed, too, although with the oversized wheel tubs, you'll have to use some care. The leather-lined interior isn't quite what you'd expect from a pro-street pickup, but it's comfortable and beautifully built. The power seats are from a late-model Cadillac and fit neatly in the Ford's reasonably spacious cab. A custom center console was created to sit between them, and it includes cup holders and controls for the power windows and Vintage Air A/C system. The original dash was filled with handsome Ford Motorsports gauges and a late-model Ford truck steering wheel was dropped on the original column, so it has an OEM look and feel. There's an AM/FM/cassette stereo in the center of the dash and luxury features like power windows and locks were added during the build. It's all quite neat and tasteful, and the contrast with the insane performance is very appealing. Get in and cruise or get in and race, it's happy doing both. The reason it's so good at going fast is the 460 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Beautifully detailed, it might make you forget that it's a massive horsepower factory. The Dove heads are ported and polished, fed by a Weiand intake with an 850 Holley double-pumper that's been blueprinted to flow about 935 CFM. There's a rather large cam inside and a high output Ford SVO ignition system lights it up. A giant 4-core heavy-duty radiator from an F350 keeps it cool. It's beautifully finished in Ford Blue with traditional Thunderbolt-style air cleaner and aluminum valve covers, so everyone will recognize that this is true Blue Oval performance. The hoses and wires are quite neatly routed in a way that'll make you proud to show off the engine bay, too. A built C6 3-speed automatic transmission is one of the few that will withstand the massive torque, and there's a narrowed 9-inch on a 4-link out back to put it all down. Long-tube headers and Flowmaster mufflers give it a ferocious bark, but it rides rather well, especially with the Ford LTD independent suspension up front. Steel wheels are a great look on any pickup, and these work especially well, with custom extra-wide 15x10 rims in back to handle the oversized Pro Trac tires.Deceptively handsome and insanely fast, this truck does almost everything well. It's an easy cruiser but there aren't many street cars that can keep up with it. Love the look, but you'll enjoy the performance even more. Call today!
