1965 Ford N600 Vintage Original Tilt-Back Wrecker

This is a unique and rare original 1965 Ford N600 tilt-back wrecker from a Nebraska Ford Dealer that was on its way to the scrap yard when I found it in 2010 in Texas.

I brought it home, painted it and installed a 2002 International 7.3L Power Stroke V8, 5 speed overdrive transmission and a 1998 International disc brake rear axle, as well as new upholstery and other improvements. This is a using truck and has been driven and shown as far away as the National Street Rod Association Finals in Louisville, KY last year. The bed and winch hydraulics are all functional and operational. I use this truck to move cars around and to take to local shows.

The truck has had new king pinsand brakes installed on the front axle and new pads on the rear axle. The rear tires are brand new 22.5" mounted on polished Alcoa aluminum wheels and the 50% frontsare on 19.5" Alcoa aluminum wheels. It has a new "Old Air" air conditioning/heater system installed and works excellent, so you can travel in comfort. The new white/aqua leather seat is comfortable and the cab isinsulatedto reducecab noise and heat. I haven't installed an audio system in the truck, as most buyers would prefer their own system.

This truck is fun to drive, will run at highway speeds all day whether loaded or empty and gets excellent mileage. This a perfect rig to haul your street rod or whatever to shows or swap meets. It commands attention wherever it goes and gets thumbs-up from all the truckers when you pass them on the interstate. The last photo was taken the day I brought it home from Texas and shows howrough it looked. The rust was confined to surface areas only and the undercarriage and floor pans are in perfect condition.

As an aside, Carrol Shelby used these series of trucks to haul his Cobras with back in the '60's. This would be a great rig to haul your Cobra or vintage race carto the next big show.
