1968 Mustang Shelby GT500 Clone Fastback
Car is originally a 1968 Mustang Fastback heavily modified to resemblea 1967 Mustang Shelby GT500.
Reason for selling: Recent injury which has forced me off work forseveral months and given that I am self employed I have no currentsource of income
Very few original parts on this car as almost everything has beenreplaced or upgraded including:
Rebuilt Ford 351 Cleveland 4V engineNew Ford Upgrade Alternator 140ANew 4 wheel SSBC disc brake conversion kit with single-piston ironcalipers, isc brake spindles, rake pedal, aster cylinder, oosterand adjustable proportioning valveNew lower control armsNew upper control armsNew chrome wheels/tires Vision Legend 225/45/17VeneziaNew leaf spring mounting platesNew Transmission T5ZNew BellhousingNew Spacer PlateNew Billet Steel FlywheelNew Shift handle T5 classic HurstNew Clutch ForkNew Clutch pedal/pad and clutch pedal roller kitNew T5 CrossmemberNew Coil SpringsNew Idler ArmsNew Centre LinkNew Outer shock towersNew stainless steel brake hosesNew stainless steel gas tankNew front floor pansNew leaf spring kit including shackles and boltsNew King Cobra clutchNew Chrome oil panNew MSD Super conductor spark plug wire setNew headlight switchNew heater motorNew thermostatNew cowl vent repair kitNew heater cablesNew heater coreNew distributorNew Ford 9” differential with new traction lock centre sectionNew seat cushions and upholsteryNew led dash light kitNew fold down seat chrome and hardwareNew front stabilizer barsBattery remote lockout allows complete disconnect of battery duringstorage or for securityBooming Stereo system with amp and sub and 4 speakers (all easily removable if wantmore retro look)Power antennae
Things that need attention or not working include:Dash clock (these never work but can be replaced, don't like them because the drain battery)Dash temp gauge not working but have separate 3 gauge cluster whichhas working oil pressure, olt and water temperature gauges (better thanstock gauges)Speedometer works well but is not calibrated for newer transmissionRear interior light missing (see pic in blog)Heater/vent cables not attached to new heater core and housing (haveattached separate cable that closes heater core line to interior ofcar)Have new front brake line lock for burnouts but not installed (will beincluded if wished to install, utton is on hurst shifter)Seat belts in front have stitched added shelby buckles and rearseat belts are GM brand (sorry)Wiring in trunk is all exposed and needs to be cleaned up but isfunctional (my plan was to install sequential tail light wiring sothat's why it's wasn't finished)Exterior panel below rear glass is slightly different paint color andtexture (see pic in blog) since had to be repainted during restoration but ishardly noticeableStain on back side of front passenger seat (see pic in blog). Just needs to betouched up.Minor oil drips around new chrome oil pan gasket when installed- this is so minor I decided to leave it given I had already replaced the oil pan gasket twice
These are all minor issues that do not affect the drivability of this breathtaking classic car, ust wanted potential buyers to be aware since most can't come and see it in person.
I have well over $17000.00 in receipts spent on this car on parts and supplies (none of that includes labour)
Car was originally manufactured (California), old and registered in the US so shouldn't be any issue bringing it back there. I will assist with any transportation and can even transport in my enclosed car trailer to border in Montana for extra $500 after full payment cleared.
