Description:

1963 Fiat 1500

One of very few automobiles built by Italy's Carrozzeria Ghia to be sold under their own name, the Ghia 1500 GT was based upon a shortened Fiat 1500 C chassis with independent coil spring front suspension and a leaf spring-mounted live rear axle. Power came from a mildly tuned version of the Fiat’s engine, mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Reportedly the 1500 GT was capable of 110 mph, an impressive figure for a small sports car of the period. It is believed that 846 Ghia 1500 GTs were produced from 1963 to 1967.

acquired his 1500 GT in 1990, as part of a trade with the Blackhawk Collection of Danville, California. It has remained largely on display in his collection ever since and is in older condition, with numerous bubbles, cracks and flaws visible in the paint and some rust visible on the sills and undercarriage. The engine compartment is similarly older and driver-quality, while the interior is intact and presentable, though in need of cleaning. Accompanying the car is a spare tire and jack, an original brochure, a selection of later manuals and service books, as well as a small file of maintenance receipts dated through 2020. At the time of cataloguing, the car had recorded 35,041 miles. Mr. Mitosinka has recently had cosmetic and mechanical work done to the car including new tires, brake servicing, a rebuilt clutch cylinder, chrome plating work, refinished wheels, and a new battery.
