Fiat 600 Multipla Series 1 Classic / 1956 / LHD / Restored & Exceptional!
1956 Fiat 600 Multipla Vinyl
Fiat 600 Multipla Series 1 Classic / 1956 / LHD / With Low Italian Owners / Fully & Expertly Restored - Unique Investment Opportunity! $44,995.
We are truly privileged to offer to the market this fully restored & highly desirable Fiat 600 Multipla Series 1 model, which are now incredibly scarce & the collector's favourite. (Not the more available later Series 2). It's a genuine LHD Italian black plate 1956 example first registered in Matera on 10th March, in the Basilicata region of Southern Italy. It has a freshly rebuilt engine & gear box & has a nominal mileage of less than 500 shake down KM's since the full & comprehensive restoration, with the total recorded mileage from new being 68,207 KM. In deed this was a cherished example even prior to its comprehensive nut & bolt restoration.
This stunning & unrepeatable example underwent a full photographic bare shell restoration in 2016/17 by a Fiat Club Italia oficonardo, whom once completed used the vehicle to attend local classic shows, but decided that this completed vehicle in light of rising prices for Series 1 examples was far too valuable to use on a regular basis. We spotted this desirable example at the first car show he attended in Vercelli, Northern Italy a truly beautiful location. We left our details & interest in its purchase. The proud owner (Mario) called back a few months later & a sensible deal was eventually brokered. We were eager to obtain this Multipla due to it being the best example bar none that we had ever seen or driven, too often people use the term 'nut & bolt' restoration, but this is the real thing - I don't believe there can be a better example available for the price requested.
Mario worked with an entrusted local marquee specialist whom together stripped the vehicle back to the bare metal shell, the shell & panels were sandblasted & then primed whilst they let in new metal cills & front panels as required. The vehicle was then expertly sanded & blocked to achieve the best panel fit & better than factory standards of finish. The body was then fully primed & blocked again before being reprimed. Finally the vehicle was painted inside & outside in the original colours but in a modern paint system & oven baked. This was a real labour of love, with no expense spared & shows in the final finish. Whilst the motor & gear box were out, they were fully & expertly rebuilt. The suspension & running gear, electrical, mechanical, rubbers & seals etc. were all rebuilt or replaced if required & the vehicle was then fitted back up. The exterior bright work was all rechromed & several hard to find pieces of trim were gathered to complete the works. A new original spec floor mat set was fitted, but the original interior was refitted as the owner could not locate the factory correct seat covers & door cards. We however were able to find an artisan that we have used before in Northern Italy whom made a complete new interior to the original factory specification & colours which our trimmer expertly fitted on arrival to the UK. This included the seat covers, door cards, rear shelf cover & spare wheel cover. It cost over $1340 plus fitting, so wasn't cheap, but has finished the restoration perfectly.
We have the original Italian log book showing low owners from new, the original owner's manual & an original sales brochure that accompany the vehicle along with colour photographic printed images of the restoration which sit proudly in the ample history file.
It is a truly well restored & detailed example that must surely be one of the most unique in the world. I have been dying to find an expertly restored period correct example like this since I went to the Goodwood Revival (GB) last summer & we were taken around the circuit in a Multipla taxi, they use them normally at the Revival to transport VIPs around!
I fell in love there & then & have been literally hunting the globe to find a decent one since.
On its recent arrival to our shores, we have been meticulous in our further preparation prior to offering this exception example to the market by undertaking the following works: Fitted the correct engine decal set, new chrome period wiper blades, supplied a fresh MOT and conducted a multipoint check, replaced the fuel with $50 of new super unleaded, set the timing, given the cheeky little chap a full service including NGK plus just to be sure! Fitted white wall spats, Fiat Key ring, ACI club sticker & had the roof rack specially commissioned by our associated artisan metal worker.
What you see with this unique example is what you get. You could actually use this example for every day use, transportation to the Revival, or as a contender at classic car shows & be proud of it in any circumstance.
Find another as well restored with this low test mileage, low ownership & as structurally excellent, it's only being offered for sale for the fourth time in its life to date!
Fresh UK MOT with NO advisories. - (But MOT exempt in the UK).
Period roof rack included in the sale & luggage is available if required.
Our Fiats come recommended by a leading authority - Ricambio International Ltd. I actually have a light blue 1964 500D that makes up part of my own private collection & everybody loves it! (I would love to keep this example as part of my own collection also). It always puts a smile on my face, plus you don't need to worry about the rising petrol prices - Just enjoy!
