Building on the success of the Ferrari 308 GTB, or Berlinetta (hardtop), Ferrari introduced the 308 GTS, or Spider (targa top), at the 1977 Frankfurt Motor Show. The car gained widespread notoriety starring in the TV show Magnum P.I. with actor Tom Selleck behind the wheel.

This 1978 Ferrari 308 GTS is presented in black with a removable targa top and pop-up headlights. The car rides on new Michelin XWX radial tires which are mounted on reconditioned original factory Ferrari-branded five-spoke wheels. The Ferrari is powered by a 2.9-liter, 240-hp V-8 engine that is paired to a five-speed manual transmission. Recent maintenance on the Ferrari includes a documented timing belt service. The interior is completed in black featuring bucket seats, Veglia instrumentation and Ferrari's customary gated shifter and is all original. Additional interior features include power windows and air conditioning; as well as an Alpine AM/FM radio with cassette plus power antenna. Everything is in working order, even the AC is blowing cold.

To prepare this Ferrari for sale, it had a thorough inspection by renowned Ferrari Mechanic Tim Stanford. Tim’s assessment is" this is one of the best driving carbonated 308's I have ever driven."
