Offered for NO RESERVE AUCTION is this 1978 Ferrari 308GTS .
It was sold new on 30th June 1979 in Oklahoma City. From there, t went to southern California where it spent the majority of it's life.
It was imported into Australia some eight (8) years ago. It has never been on the road in Australia but has been regularly started and driven around the block.
The vehicle will be shipped to the USA west coast port of either Long Beach or Oakland at no cost to the buyer. All shipping costs to either port will be included in the selling price.
As it was originally a USA spec vehicle, anufactured for and sold new into the USA before being exported, t makes it very easy and simple a process to import back into the USA without any restrictions or special inspections by your local DMV.
Also, eing a USA spec vehicle, t has factory air conditioning as well as power windows.
This vehicle is the highly sought after and collectible carburetor model in red with tan and black interior.
The vehicle has covered 87,720 miles in the past 37 years. It presents exceptionally well, aving been the subject of a previous comprehensive body, aint and interior restoration program. At one point in time it was a show vehicle within the USA.
It is in very damn good condition with just a very few cosmetic chips in the otherwise brilliantly glossy paintwork (see pics).
At some stage in it's life as a show vehicle, t was fitted with scissor lift hinges to the doors. Each to their own but, f you are anything like me, ou will dislike them as I do. After all, t is a Ferrari, ot a Lamborghini.
Having said that, decommissioned the action by releasing the pressure from the struts, hich can easily be re-pressurized if desired.
Alternatively, t is a relatively easy task to return to the original hinged swing doors. Complete hinge kits for both doors are available for under $300 total, lus cost to fit.
Everything works and there is very little to spend. You would have to search long and hard to find, f at all, better value 308GTS than this example.
