Edsel Citation is an automobile that was produced by the Edsel division of Ford for the 1958 model year. The Citation was the top of the line for the Edsel name plate.There were 9,299 Edsel Citation produced.
Model overviw When Edsel was produced for the 1958 model year, the Citation and the Corsair shared their underpinnings with the Mercury Monterey and the Montclair.All other Edsels were based on the Ford chassis.
Chassis The Edsel Citation and the Corsair were built on a Mercury chassis which was extended to 124" wheelbase.
Features For the 1958 launch, the Corsaire and the Citation had several features. one of the more popular was the Teletouch transmission with the controls in the center of the steering wheel hub, the instrument panel centered its gauges in front of the steering wheel, a padded dash, and double latched doors.
Available now for sale is my rare 1958 4 door hardtop.The car is stunning with its gold color with the black paint in the cove area and its white top. This car is a beautiful example of the Edsel vehicle that was available. This car is as close to new looking as what you will find anywhere.
General Condition Previous owner did a full rebuild. New interior by SMS with fitter plastic seat covers also by SMS.All chrome is in excellent condion. Previous owner states that he had engine and transmission rebuilt all new wheel cylinders and brakes, had generator replaced with a alternator,new carbureator, suspension and steering rebuilt. The car shows no leaks.
Items that need attention 1) I replaced the power brake unit, may need to have brake system bled 2) may need carbureator adjusted or repaired,not sure. When I got the car, the car started with ease, but the choke seems to be the problem.
Reason for sale Right after receiving car, I had a work injury to my back. I am unable to do any thing with the car. Since I am paying to store the car, it doesn't make sense to keep the car as I am unable to do even minor upkeep on the car..
Additional details Over the past 40 years, I have owned 4 Edsels, collecting a variety of spare parts, all the parts I have collected are all Edsel parts. These parts include 2 carbureators, 1 Edsel windshield, starter motor, OEM generator, OEM radio and a lot of miscellanious parts. These parts will fill up the truck area. All of these parts are included in the sale.
