Description:
1958 Edsel Pacer
1958 Edsel Pacer 4 Door Sedan (barn find)We pulled this car and a 2 door out of a local farmers barn last month. We’ve been cleaning and going over this car so that we can describe the good and bad we found.
The 58 Pacer 4 Door Sedan was purchased used in 1977 from a local dealership in Twin Falls, Idaho. this car has been a high desert car it’s whole life. The farmer has passed away and his wife decided to sell the cars. We were able to buy the cars and get them moved a couple of weeks ago.We hope this explains the provenance of this Edsel Pacer. Clear title.
As Is (we have not preformed any mechanical other than cleaning the plugs and gas in the carb to see if engine would run, it fired up and ran smoothly) started easily did not smoke or make any noises. The engine oil is super clean. The car is in neutral and rolls easily on a set of used tires we put on it. Transmission oil clean and smells good.

Body is super straight and solidExcellent rockers, pillars, drip rails, floor pans, trunk are all excellent no rust
Trim is decent with some dingsHeadlights workAll Glass is goodBumpers goodInterior door panels are very good and save-able.Original Carpet is stained. I shampooed to get the mice leavings out, it is useable but not in good conditionOriginal seat covers are dry rotted, ripped and not in good conditionKey is in ignitionTrunk latch is disconnectedAppears to be a very old repaint from the 70’s
There is a very small area in lower rear portion of the driver front fender that is paint bubble area of rust and also smaller area in the lower driver rear quarter fender (I used a quarter as a reference size in pictures)A few small dings here and there. Trim also has dings but overall it’s decent. Rear passenger door has a dent in trim.Small easily repairable dent in roof (rear passenger side, quarter used for size reference)I polished the top of the driver fender a few minutes and it shined up great. The car has been de-oxidized, not waxed or buffed yet. This car had mice from being stored in a barn for 40 years. Headliner will also need replaced.
This car is complete except. Missing 1 hub cap, no trunk key, 2 door panel trim pieces passenger doors, hood ornament, Edsel emblem in steering wheel. We had taken the door seal plates off the inspect and take pictures, we have put those back on. Hub caps, carpet, firewall pad and carpet pad are bagged and in trunk for transport.Dash pad has 2 small cracks and heat has caused to come unglued around speaker.
We have washed, vacuumed and semi polished the trim and windows. Lots of potential here.
Being sold as is. With a clear title
