Description:
1959 Edsel Corsair
The Edsel wound up being the "wrong car at the wrong time." It's estimated that less than 10,000 have survived to today. The Edsel came about as a new car and a new division of Ford Motor Company fresh into the 1957 recession. They built 118,297 Edsels between the 1958 - 1960 model years, with only 44,891 of the 1959 models built for the US and 2,505 for Canada. By 1959 they were down to only the Louisville, KY plant producing them.Edsels were known for their trademark "horse collar" or "toilet seat" center grille, which was supposed to be distinctive, but perhaps worked against sales. We will be happy to take more pictures - if necessary - and can certainly arrange for you to see it in person. This is part of the Roger Bryden Collection. Roger would buy vehicles from his customers & friends when they didn't have a use for them, wanted to trade them in, couldn't drive anymore, or just plain needed money. Some had special meaning to Roger and others were just nice cars. He stored them in climate-controlled buildings, many were in the new car showroom from time-to-time. You may call Scott Bryden with questions at (608) 364-5922. We will do our best to answer them. Tax, Title, License, & DOC Fee of $169.99 may be required depending upon area being titled. We can perform sales tax, license, and titling services for Wisconsin & Illinois. Any other areas, it will be dependent upon the winning bidder to secure those fees and any import or export taxes charged by governing bodies.
