Description:

1958 Edsel Ranger

For your consideration is this unusual 1958 Edsel Ranger 2dr ht! This is an excellent start on your next project! The car has been in storage for many years. This is the first year for Edsel and was the most unusual of the three years they were in production! This is the Ranger model which shared its roofline with the Ford Fairlane. The car is showing 47,046 miles, I do not know if it has rolled over or not.

The Edsel has its original E400 361 ci engine and steering wheel mounted push button shifter! The engine runs great and the transmission shifts into gear as it should!

This 58 was originally dark green, it has been painted turquoise and white many years ago. The car is solid and mostly complete; the two long pieces of rear quarter trim are missing. All four hubcaps are with the car! There is some rust in the rockers and lower fenders as the pictures show. The floors look to have been patched and look good, the trunk floor is excellent! The hood and trunk lid are very nice as well!

The interior is original and decent, the dash pad is gone, the dash trim that is not on the dash is included with the car. There are several extra parts including a brand new set of rear taillight lenses!

The car runs on a gallon jug, I have not checked the gas tank and the brakes are down, it will need to be hauled. I have only driven it around the yard to check the transmission.

This is a rare car that deserves to be restored to its former glory or built into an amazing street rod! Let your imagination run wild with an unusual car as your starting point!
