1971 Dodge 1/2 Ton Pickup
1971 Dodge D100 Sweptline. 318 engine, 727 Auto Trans, 391 Rear Gears. I've owned quite a few Sweptline era trucks and this is one of the cleanest honest rust free around. Rcokers, floors and insides the doors are solid. The paint is driver quality. This truck was an original USAF/NASA Truck stationed in Texas. The lettering is correct for the truck and the stickers can be removed if you wish. The truck started s a Commanders vehicle, 136th Tactical Airlift Wing, Hensley Field, Dallas Texas. Then it went to Fort Summer Airport where they used it for the Atmospheric Programs (Pronaos being one of them) before being Auctioned off. I also have a 3-ring binder with documentation. The truck is also signed by my boss the Legendary Big Daddy Don Garlits. This truck is a great candidate for an easy restoration, Hellcat or Stroker swap or drive as is. I drive it quite often and it drives smooth, floats soft and doesn't rattle or squeak. Engine doesn't smoke or burn any oil and I believe it to be original/never rebuilt but some gaskets and maintenance has been performed.Here is a list of items that have been done to it. (New windshield and gasket, new side window channel gaskets and felt, re-upholstered seat, dash pad and gas tank cover as well as new carpeting. An ultra low mileage steering box was sourced and installed so the steering is nice and tight. New rear taillight and reverse lenses, new heater core, new radiator, new carburetor, new fuel pump, new battery, new turn signal cam, new front and rear brakes, re-chromed bumpers which cost $2800 alone, new Mopar rally rims and trim rings from Summit racing and new Cooper tires, rear rims are 15x8 and fronts are 15x7 and new battery. Some of the work was done before I purchased it. I also installed NOS Swepltine special fender emblems and custom cab trim on the cab. I am sure I am leaving something out.
