1949 Dodge "Pilothouse" B1C Pickup
1949 Dodge Other Pickups
Just add tires and some nuts and bolts and this Rusty beauty is ready to go anywhere (I hope).
I purchased this truck a few months ago as a project for three old guys to work on. Our main mechanic and metal worker was diagnosed with cancer and is on hospice. This truck is in pretty good shape rust wise. The bottom of a crosss member in the front is rusted out, and a rust hole in the right inner door. Most other rust is surface. The previous ownner has replaced the gas tank and running boards. I replaced the rubber fuel lines, fuel filter and fuel pump; coolant hoses replaced and the raditor has a new core, I added 2 gallons of green antifreeze a few days ago. The steering was extremely tight, but we replace a damper that was causing a bind.Replaced the damper. The front chrome is in the bed of the truck. It starts fine and drives pretty good. It does not seem to have syncros to allow down shifting but the brakes have stopped me everytime I have driven it. Drove it today from a friends place to my home about 8 miles and it was fine. Gas guage does not work, drivers window is plexiglad and crank does not work. Any questions just let me know.
