Vehicle Details

What you are looking at is a very nice and documented 1987 Dodge Shelby Lancer. This is 1 of 400 cars built with cloth interior and 5 speed transmission. Estimated less then 200 left with these options so it has become a very rare car. This Shelby is numbered 384. This specific car comes with a stack of every document since brand new and every receipt of all work that’s been done with mileage. The exact mileage currently is 51,863. The miles might go up a little as I do still drive it, but will stay below 52,000 miles for the sale.

The body presents very well. The paint does shine very nicely. Very few dents and scratches in the paint. The stickers are a bit worn off/flaking, but it will come with brand new mopar replacements.

Unfortunately I do not have the factory rims.

The interior is in great shape for its age. There is no rips in the seats. There is some fading on the top of the rear seats from the sun. The original radio with cd/tape player works great and has great sound for the age. The steering wheel is original to the car with the Shelby signature engraving. The windows have gotten slow and weak over time so expect to replace the motors in the future.

The 2.2L turbo engine runs great. We have done the typical tune up including plugs and wires, coil, a brand new fuel pump and filter, and also an alternator and battery. The engine runs quiet with no weird noises and has great oil pressure. The 5 speed transmission shifts great and the clutch grabs without any slips. The engine is all stock besides a dodge mopar logic module. All of the ac components have been replaced and does work, along with the heat.

Overall this is a great survivor. While the car looks nice in the pictures it is far from perfect, after all it is 35 years old. Some known issues are: the headliner is starting to sag in some spots, the fuel gauge stopped worked and is sitting on empty. Occasionally the car will go threw fits where it acts like it’s running out of fuel while driving and buck, then clear right up. Along with this happening, if the car is cold it takes a few more cranks then normal to fire up. Also 5th gear can be stubborn to get into, when you do get it in, it holds and doesn’t pop out.

I do have walk around and driving videos I can send if your interested. I will be happy to answer any questions about the car. I can also take any more pictures requested. I have the reserve set very low on this car to make sure a sell happens. These cars do not go for sale often especially with this low of miles and documents. With a little bit of work someone could have a very show worthy collector car.
