1958 DODGE COE TRUCK

This is a cool old Dodge COE truck. The old dodges seem to be the rarest COE trucks to find from what I see. I bought this truck years ago when it was still on it's original chassis. I sold it a couple years later to a friend, who started the restoration work. The friend was then moving, so I bought it back. I've included a pic of the truck before the restoration was started. These trucks make great haulers, rollbacks or ramp trucks. You could easily make a car hauler out of it with a flatbed and dovetail. All the details are below. Feel free to ask questions. I do have a few more pica I can send. Please read payment requirements. I accept wire transfer only. Your bank can help you with that if you need and it's pretty easy. I can help arrange U.S. and international shipping if needed. This truck is definitely NOT a 1957. In 1958 the dodge pickups switched bodystyles. The COE trucks did not. There are minor differences between a 1957 and 1958 COE truck, but they look the same for the most part. The 1958 has a hump and swoop on the door, which the 1957 does not have. Thank you.

MECHANICAL

The truck does not have an engine or transmission. I don't remember what engine/transmission it originally had. The chassis is from a 1-ton C30 squarebody dually GM pickup truck. It's an extra-long chassis from a cab/chassis model c30. The frame dips down in the front, making a mid-engine build easy. These trucks ride/handle much better with the engine set back. The original frame stubs were cutoff behind the rear spring mounts, for the rear axle. Those can be replaced easily if you want that extra length for your build. I may have the frame extentions I can included if you want. The chassis has power brakes with front discs and power steering. It has IFS. The rearend is a 14-bolt full floater. The truck rolls and steers. The dually wheels/tires in the pics aren'tincluded. It will come with rollers. The front fenders are designed for much larger wheels/tires, since it was originally a 2.5 ton truck. That will make it easy if you want to do a 4x4 build with larger tires, or 19.5, 22.5, or 24.5 truck wheels/tires for the semi look.

BODY

The exterior body is nearly rust free. It is straight too.It still needs finish work, which you can see in the pics. The wing window frames are included. It needs all flat glass replaced. Windshields are $230 new. Some new seals are included. The doghouse was cut out for some reason. These are easy to build for a metal/bodyman. I have that section in a dodge sweptline pickup I can include if you want. With the low frame section in the front, you will probably not need any hump in the floor, so I think a custom metal floor is the better route for more footroom in the cab. The doors shut and latch as they should. The hoods do also. I have a box of parts that go with the truck also. Door handles, dash pieces, etc. I do have the original bumper. It is partially bent, but I can included it if you want. Many chrome aftermarket bumpers would work on here. I have a complete nice sweptline longbed box I can include if we agree on a deal for that. I can get it bolted on for transport.

INTERIOR

The interior needs complete restoration. This really doesn't have much for upholstery, but replacement carpet/floormats are probably available. The bucket seats need recovered. I'm sure you could add upholstery in areas like the door panels if you choose. Some other dash pieces are included.
