This is an all original 1974 Dodge D200 Maxivan pop top camper! As about as original as you are gonna find!
I found this beauty (the Golden Goose)...hibernating in a barn along the river in an old orchard here in Eastern Washington. The old man who owned it passed away a few years ago. He bought it moons ago and just covered it and put it in his barn. It hadn't been on the road since 93! I purchased it from his daughter and grandson who were handling his estate.
I've knocked all of the cobwebs and dust off of it and brought it back to life.
The original miles of 89k really show. The 318 runs beautifully! I put fresh oil...freshened up the 2 barrel carburetor....New plugs wires cap and rotor. I put a brand new gas tank in....New fuel line in parts...New fuel pump. I put a brand new battery in her also. The tires are brand new with less than 300 miles.
The transmission was leaking fluid from sitting...so I took her to a transmission shop and had the leak fixed (shifter linkage gasket) and new fluid...filter and pan gasket were installed.
This drives very well. Brakes are very good...disc in front and drum rear.
Everything works as it should....all of the lights work....horn....radios...everything.
The body is straight with some bumps and bruises here and there. The only rust is shown in the pics....along the passenger side wheel lip...and some on each lower rear corner. The undercarriage is solid!
The top does not lift on its own currently. I believe the air cylinders will need work. The air compressor that runs the top works great.
Glass is all good...front windshield has some fading.
