Description:

1971 Dodge Dart

1971 Dodge Dart Swinger. Two door 318 V8, 2 barrel carb with automatic. Triple Black car. Engine and drivetrain mostly original, except for aftermarket dual exhaust, air shocks and Crager SS wheels. The car has AC (non-op), power steering, power brakes and original AM radio (works). I’ve owned it since 2005, it’s used mostly for car shows and cruises. Originally the car was white with a blue interior; a previous owner painted it black and changed the interior to black vinyl. Flat black bubble bee stripe and dual functional hood-scoops were added by me shortly after I purchased the car. We affectingly call it “Angus” after AC/DC’s “Back in Black” guitarist Angus Young.

The interior is in very good condition - no tears or holes in the carpet, upholstery, headliner or dash pad, The exterior paint shines up; has some chips and touch-ups. Some bubbling has started to develop on the lower rear quarter and under the vinyl roof on driver rear, and there is one bubble on each fiberglass hood-scoop. Exterior isn’t perfect, but good overall from six feet. The trunk was sprayed with al truck bed protector previous to my ownership. I purchased the car in Denver and kept it in my garage. In 2015, we moved to Las Vegas and kept it in the garage or covered storage, and in 2020 we moved to Virginia where it stays in my garage except when driven. It’s been a very dependable cruiser that gets attention wherever we go. A few items that may need attention: gas gauge (stopped working, have new sending unit included in sale), windshield wipers (work some times), passenger-side reverse light not working, AC (needs condenser and refrigerant conversion), vinyl roof (can leave as is, but I recommend replacement and repair bubbling underneath), speedometer (needle bounces around until you pass 15 mph), passenger lock (must use key from outside to lock/unlock), driver door dome light switch (light doesn’t turn on without wiggling door jam switch), minor fluid leaks (after sitting), engine compartment detailing, and potentially paint at some point.
