1974 Dodge Challenger Patina Edition

Up for your consideration, is my 1974 Dodge Challenger that was driving as of Yesterday until I decided to sell my project to fund getting another B-Body instead, I have enjoyed building this for myself but time to move on. I am setting the Reserve price at a very reasonable amount for what I have put into the car which is about 3/4 of what I have in it. I have a total of about $21k into the car as it sits. The Shaker setup felt more expensive than the car itself but made the car perfect to me. I originally set it up to run a 451 Stroker with B-Body set up 4 Speed which is why the 4-speed hole is in a different position than normal. I am 6"6" so the factory dash would not work with me neither would the E-body position for the shifter but had several shorter friends love the feel of the shifter being forward mounted rather than in the factory position but can be easily changed to factory or back to Automatic. This car has gotten a lot of compliments. I drove this to Chryslers at Carlisle last year for itsfirst road drive which was 400 miles for me interstate the whole time and was very comfortable for the trip. This would not take much to have a really nice Clean Challenger with the Engine and Transmission of your choice.I have less than 1000 miles on the entire build!
Car is 1 of 84 vinyl top Challengers for 1974, originally Dark Moonstone Metallic, White Vinyl Top, Black and White Interior, Bucket Seat/Console, Floor Shift, Power steering, Manual Disc, Front Sway Bar, Road Wheels with White Line Tires, 318 2 Bbl, 904 Trans, 8 3/4 489 case Rearend and the build sheet backs this all up. Car was sitting Moneta Va since 1983 until I bought it in 2021 and is a 2 Owner car. about 97000 original miles. I have a 1974 Warranty 318 block that can go with the car and a 1968 904 trans with converter if desired by the buyer.
Used Parts that are included:Two sets of taillights, Original Dash that has cracks and needs restored, Dash Cluster with bezels, Original Radio, Kick Panels, Rear Door Panels, A Pillar Trim, Vinyl Top Trim, Interior trim, Console, Floor Shifter with linkage, Front door panels but they would look good as just ratty driver quality, Shaker Scoop, Shaker Parts I did not install, Original Flat Hood, Extra trunk lip trim, Front Valance, 3 grill center sections, Wiper Arms, Parking Lights and a Gas Pedal.
New Parts that are included:OER from classic industries both Full Quarters, Trunk Extensions, and Outer Wheelhouses, plus an AMD 1970 Trunk Deck Lid.
I built this for myself, so I was picky in what parts I used, I don't use cheap crap or cut corners on Suspension and drivetrain. So, here's what I've done to it to make it a good riding/handling car:
Front Suspension:Completely rebuilt minus the Lower control arm bushings since they were still good with all new Moog parts and QA1 Strut Rods. Plus, it was professionally aligned and drives straight and will take a hard corner extremely well.
Rear Suspension:Original 8 3/4 and 489 case I had media blasted before cleaning, painting and fully rebuilding with new bearings, seals, 3.23:1 Gears, sure grip, and Mopar Super Stock Springs with new perches and hangers, and Monroe Air Shocks. Center was Professionally setup by a local shop by a gentleman who used to rebuild them back in the day. I added a Rear Sway bar for handling, and it made a huge difference.
Brakes:Front brakes I used new Calipers, seals, hoses, bearings, rotors, but reused the original dust shields. All new hardlines in the car with new hoses and distribution blocks. Rear 10" Brake parts were media blasted, painted and rebuilt per the manual with new hardware, shoes, wheel cylinders, and drums. New Master cylinder and OEM style Power Brake booster conversion. The brakes are sensitive, they will put you in the dash if you hit them too hard.
Wheels and Tires:Vintage set of Crager SS Rims, 14x6 front with Bias Ply Firestone Tires from Coker, 15x10 in the rear with a 4.5" offset and 275/60/15 Bias Ply M&H Racemasters also from Coker. The rear tires grip really well, well enough to kill my clutch during a launch.
Body:I completely cleaned, scraped, primed and re-undercoated the entire underside. The rails, rockers, torque boxes, crossmembers, floors and trunk pan are solid with the exception of a 2-inch size hole that was repaired using fiberglass before I got it in the driver's front floor, a 1/2" size hole on the passenger side and about 3 pin holes on the inside of the driver's front frame rail. all easily fixable and would not need panel replacement. Overall, the car is extremely solid compared to the junk that is on marketplace for stupid money. I added 1970 Powdercoated bumper brackets front and rear with 1972 Challenger bumpers to clean up the appearance of it. The new AMD front and rear glass was professionally installed, before installation I wire brushed the channels and repainted them. The pinch welds looked like factory new. The 10 Point Cage I added from S&W Race Cars with no major modifications. It can be easily removed if the buyer wishes. Shaker Hood is new from AMD, I patina matched it to the car and gets a lot of compliments. Shaker Came from Northwest Performance, Base plate: I had to modify it with a drop base to fit with an aftermarket Edelbrock intake. Forward Light Harness is new and Unmodified, Dash Harness I was planning on replacing, was already butchered so I stripped it and made work with my application. The Tail Harness is the original in good shape and unmodified. all the lights work with LED Lights all the way around with Orange Halo Headlights. Has a working aftermarket Defroster and heat. The original heater core was busted to pieces for some reason. New Fuel Tanks and Sending unit.
