Vehicle Details

1970 Dodge Challenger R/T street/race car includes original hood

I purchased this Challenger in October 2020 and after repeated requests, I never receivediii a build sheet or specs about this car other then what’s listed below. The car was driven very little (only 3 months) under my ownership. I ki a personal injury accident at home (fell out of a tree) in June 2021 that left me paralyzed. The car is currently stored in a warehouse and the motor started and run every 2 months.

This car has no issues other then my comments listed below. The car is fun to drive and it turns heads

Here is information about the car:

In 1990, the original (1st) owner sold this car to the (2nd) owner who upgraded the motor, drivetrain, ignition system, cooling system, some electrical wiring, and fuel system to create a high-performance car for racing and legal street driving. The car was never raced by the 2nd owner - it was simply too fast and the speed “frightened” him.

Everything on the car works well except for the windshield wipers (not attached but included with car), In addition, the radio, horn, and dashboard instruments don’t work. This car has a non-factory tachometer, water temp gauge, oil pressure gauge, fuel pump pressure gauge, drivetrain, exhaust system (3.5”) pipes, and rear spoiler - all aftermarket parts. Also has a newer vinyl top, newer headliner, and halogen headlights.

The car originally had a 383 motor that was upgraded to a 1970 Dodge 440 motor. This high performance motor was built with Indy heads and Holley Dominater carb that rest on wooden spacers on top of an Indy manifold. The original Indy aspirated valve covers were removed and replaced with Edelbrock Elite II Series non-aspirated covers. The Indy valve covers are included with this car (see photo). The car has a large capacity Miloden oil sump. Fuel is stored in a 5-6 gallon baffled fuel cell located in the trunk adjacent to the battery. Electric power is activated through an on/off switch found under the fuel cap. I don’t have specs about the transmission or rear differential gearing. However, this car has a 3-speed Hurst shifter with a reverse manual valve body and matching ATI torque converter. Manual steering and brakes. The car rides on newer Mickey Thompson tires mounted to polished aluminum Centerline wheels. Note: original hood is included with this car.

Condition overall is excellent with no under carriage rust, straight body panels, interior is clean with a few minor cuts/tears to the vinyl seats. Engine compartment is clean and no fluid leaks. All windows are functional and roll up and down. The instrument panel needs work, glove box is missing (original glove box door is attached to the dashboard), rear deck panel could be replaced.

Paint color is plum crazy purple. The lone exception are the 2 trunk mounting brackets/hinges which are painted blue (see photo).
