1991 Dodge Spirit R/T - 224bhp - 5 speed manual - DOHC Intercooled Turbo - less than 41K original miles !
1991 Dodge Spirit R/T.
Manufactured in Mexico (as they all were) in October of 1990.
Indy Red clear coat exterior.
Charcoal Grey cloth interior (with ‘groovy’ red striping).
Less than 40,999 ORIGINAL miles.
A total of 1,208 were sold in the U.S. in 1991 – 774 in red and 434 in white.
Who knows how many are left .. and left with only 41K miles...?????
Factory Options:
Power Equipment Package – pwr windows and pwr door locks (pwr heated mirrors standard).
Power Drivers Seat – 8-way. (both seats have manual lumbar support).
Infinity Stereo – single CD & Cassette, 3 band eq. and 4 Infinity Speakers.
Air Conditioning works, Marchal fog lights with funky little ‘fox faces’ on them work, stereo is OEM - CD/Tape/all functions work – speakers sound like 30+ year old factory installed ones, air intake in place, all functions on power seat work.
I am just not driving it much anymore - drove it less than 300 miles in 2022 on dry/sunny days only. I have this Volvo V60 “Polestar” (see photo) that makes over 360bhp from a 2.0l engine - 181hp/liter vs. the R/T that makes 102hp/l…..fun stuff. Although I do like the shifting in the Spirit.

When I do drive it - I run it up to 90 mph and 5,000+ rpm with no issues.

Is kept in my garage - covered.

Clean (TN) title in hand and car is insured.

May 2020 (40,300 miles):
new radiator and fan installed.
oil and filter, air filters and PCV valve, brake flush.
new custom fit floor mats (4) from GG Bailey (OEMs included).
new headlight housings and bulbs (OEMs included).

Dec 2017 (38,900 miles):
New suspension: Eibach “Pro-Kit Lowering Springs 2804.140” (4), KYB Struts (2), KYB “Gas-A-Just” shocks (2), “bobble strut”, Moog bushings (4) on front sway bar.
New brakes: R1 Concepts drilled/slotted (all 4 vented) rotors & ceramic pads (all 4 corners), 2 new front calipers, and fluid replacement. Went with ceramic pads as they are noted for lower dust and the ‘snowflake’ wheels are labor intensive to clean.
New Tires: Four (4) Sumitomo HTR A/S P02 205/60/15 91H HP All-Season tires. These were the ‘highest performing' 15” tires at Tire Rack. Original donut spare in trunk (note this tire is 32+ year old – I would not use it)
Nov 2017: new matching headliner.
Sept 2017: all filters, spark plugs and wires, and fluids (inc. transmission) changed.
2016: timing belt, serpentine belt, and water pump replaced.
As far as the ‘gremlins’
Air Bag light is on and I cannot figure how clear it.
Some of the functions on the "Traveler” (trip computer) do not work. I have replaced the unit (twice!) and that is not the issue. (must be deeper).

Passenger side front turn signal lamp is a bit squirrelly – I know the issue (bad connecter) – just have not replaced yet.

The paint is 32+ years old. A few spots need attention (the rear spoiler, some door dings, a corner of the hood has just a bit of rust). There is some potting on the horizontal surfaces that is from hail; I live with it – easy to fix prior to a repaint…which I kept thinking I would do…

40 page 1991 Dodge Performance catalogue for Stealth, Spirit R/T, Shadow ES and Daytona.
Original Owners Manual and Stereo Manual.
Three (3) OEM Chrysler keys with the plastic capsules – very ‘retro’ 1990! (no key fobs here!

All documents I have on parts/work done – back as far as 2012.

Any/all stray parts and new/unused filters and the like.
