Vehicle Details

Up for auction, 1975 Dodge Monaco.

In the fall of 1978, Warner Brothers sent two 1975 Dodge Monaco’s to Georgia, for the filming of a new television series called “The Dukes Of Hazzard”. When the two Monaco’s arrived in Georgia, they placed a label on the drivers side dash of each car: Police 1 & Police 2.

Police 2 was used in the filming of the first five episodes of The Dukes Of Hazzard, which was filmed in and around Conyers, Georgia.

The opening scene of “One Armed Bandits” shows Police 2 make its first jump while being chased by the General Lee. Two of the cars most memorable scenes are the chase in front of the Boar’s Nest and the chase around Covington Square.

After the first five episodes were completed, filming was stopped for the holidays. Warner Brothers moved production to California before it would resume. Police 2, along with all the other vehicles left behind, became the property of Cliff Shaw’s Transmission Shop.

Jump forward to October of 2000. Lee One, Police 1 and Police 2 were found in a junkyard in Dawsonville, Georgia.

Police 2 was purchased by a private collector and remained a part of his collection until 2018, when it was purchased by two of my buddies and I.

Police 2 has been to numerous Dukes of Hazzard events and car shows. Its been featured in several magazine articles and seen at many of the big Dukes Reunion shows. It’s been to:

Cooter’s Last Stand in Luray

The 40th Anniversary in Nashville

Back to Georgia and to several of the original filming locations.

The 2003 event in Georgia ~ where a General Lee was jumped for the first time since the series went off the air. Corey Eubanks jumped a General Lee over Police 2!

I know pretty much all of the history of the car and I’m glad to answer any questions 740-208-0028. I can get whatever pictures you need and it would be available for potential buyer to come look at the car.

We’ve had a lot of fun with the car, but for us it’s the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one for someone else.
