Description:

1971 Dodge Dart Swinger

1971 Street Strip Dodge Dart Tribute Car (Actually titled 1973 year model)

It has a 1971 front clip, because I had a clean donor 4 door car with too much rust in the floor pans and rear. I have always loved the 1970-71 Darts. The grille was stored for many years and has no cracks and is perfect.

360 block was built by a Horsepower Farm around 3k miles ago .030" over, Keith Black 107 Pistons, J heads ported with 2.02 1.60 small stem valves, Harland Sharp 1.5 Roller Rockers, Howards Hydraulic Flat Tappet #710581-10 (.531 .547 lift 277 283), LD340 Intake, New Holley HP 650 carb (tuned for 5,000' elevation, Hooker Headers, 3" Flow Masters, mini starter, Interstate AGM Battery in the trunk,Powermaster Alternator,Chrome Ignition Box.

Here are a few videos of the car.

Big A-Body Radiator from a 340 car, Dual electric radiator fans on a thermostat and manual switch (Never gets above 200 degrees on a 100 degree day)

TF904 3 speed Auto was rebuilt last year with many billet internals, also has a TF2 Shift Kit and external big cooler (Shifts great and no slipping)

Hughes 5k stall converter (flashes around 4,500) It is surprising streetable

Custom Drive shaft

Line Lock (Mopars are tricky because of the dist block having two lines for the front wheels) This one blocks fluid to the rear wheels when the button is pushed.

B&M Carbon Fiber Shifter

New sheet metal in rear quarters and wheel wells

PPG Omni Base Clear EV2 Hemi Orange. It has decent paint job. There are couple of chips.I never got around to cutting or buffing the car.

Race weight fiberglass hood (Uses Original hinges and springs that have been reclocked)

Mini Tubs that hold the 325/50-15's nicely (No Rubbing). It also comes with a set of matching wheels that are 235/70-15 street tires.

Tube style subframe connectors, front of the car has been hooped with J Bars and Lower radiator support (all DOM tubing)

Alston Parallel 4 link with panhard bar (fully adjustable) with Strange adjustable shocks.

K Member and all suspension parts have been powdercoated and look great.

9" big bearing rear end

3.89 gears with Detroit Locker and custom axles

20 gallon Aluminum fuel cell with sending unit in trunk

Holley Fuel pump with flex line and AN fittings to the front of the car

Front suspension has been converted to coil-overs with tubular upper and lower control arms using the factory attachments (Dillinger Chassis Components) and QA1 single adjustable shocks. (fully adjustable).

Wilwood non-powered master with adapter plate.4 wheel disk brakes (fronts are slotted discs and 4 piston Willwood and rear are ford 8.8 brakes).

Interior of the car is good.New Carpet, Seats were recovered a few years ago, New dash cap, custom gauges that all work, all new weatherstripping and felts, new windshield.

The bumpers are decent, but need rechromed (No rust, but a couple of dings)

The car turns lots of heads. It is rust free with only a skim coat of filler. It is very fun to drive and is actually really streetable. It idles at 200 degrees on a 100 degree day in traffic.I never have taken it to the strip so I have no idea on times, but guessing a high 11 second low 12 second car at my altitude of 5,000'.It launches dead straight and drives great down the road. This is not a show car and was never intended to be one.It was built to have fun and go fast. This is not a highway cruiser, at 60mph it is turning around 2,900 rpm.The engine uses no oil and no smoke (other than the tires).

The not so good is that the rear axle seals tend to leak. The oil pan has a small oil leak. The paint has a couple of chips. The front tires are getting worn (I did a home alignment)

If you are looking for show quality paint and body, then you should look elsewhere. This car is a great looking driver and was built to be driven. It has won a couple of burnout contests and has been built to take the abuse.

If you wanted to build this car you would spend well over $20k. You will love this car as much as I have. The only reason why I am selling is because my kids are getting old enough where our priorities have changed and need to free up some money. If you have any question just send me a message and I will get back to your right away. Thanks for looking.
